Tribute a glimpse at greatness

Almost every Ozzy fan knows the story of Ozzy’s live record tribute during the “Diary of a Madman tour” the record company (CBS/ Jet) ordered a live album. The working title was “Speak of the Devil” while the Album was being mixed the world learned of Randy Rhoads untimely demise. As Ozzy picked up the pieces to carry on the record company decided to rush the live album (that’s what they where called back then) to capitalize on the rush to grab Randy Rhoads music (record companies make billions on dead rock stars or musician in general) Ozzy refused to allow the live record out especially with the title “Speak of the Devil” so after a lot of in fighting about it and the deal to deliver a “live” album Ozzy went off and decided if they want a “Speak of the Devil” he would give them one so in a club up in upstate New York Ozzy played two nights of kick ass “Black Sabbath” music not heard from since the end of the “Never Say Die” tour (with a much better guitarist Brad Guilis) the release of the live record (two weeks before Black Sabbath’s “Live Evil”) surely was the final straw for the Dio lead version of Sabbath. So for Ozzy his decision was to never release the last album of Randy Rhoads for he didn’t want to capitalize on his friend’s death. A couple of years of prodding from Deloris Rhoads the album was released as a tribute to Randy, but also one last glimpse not at a great guitarist but at what could have been; it seems sad that like Jimi, Stevie, Randy was just at the tip of his capabilities. Tribute lets us listen to a Guinness and close our eye’s and wonder what might have beenRead full review...

Superb CD- best eBay purchase ever

I was looking everywhere for this CD because I am a big fan on Ozzy's guitarist, Randy Rhoads. This entire album is a "tribute" to him and his greatest works of art. If you love listening to a phenomenal guitarist rocking out live on stage, then this is the CD for you. Some of the greatest live guitar solos ever recorded are on here, along with just about all of Ozzy's greatest hits. Buy this CD...you will not regret it.Read full review...
