A favorite CD I needed to replace

I keep it in my car player. In West Texas it can get hot parked in the sun. May lead to buyer yet again in the future.,

An unequaled classic of the 80's

U2's zenith of musical output...this is a legendary album of unequal genius. Perhaps a bit pretentious and self-important, but a masterpiece none the less

"Joshua Tree" -- The best ever

1987 (not '90 as stated above) -- "Joshua Tree" was the best to date, and in the opinion of many, the best U2 album ever. Political awareness is brought through incredible music. This album has very high emotion and heart-pounding rock and roll from the very first note. "Where the Streets Have No Name" demands that you listen intently with great anticipation. Before this album, U2 was a well-kept secret. However, this not-so-well-known band seemed to get the attention of everyone once "Joshua Tree" hit the stores and airwaves. Suddenly, they were on the covers of "Time", "Rolling Stone", etc., then an awesome tour that spread the nation (and the world). The terrific masterpiece deserved the attention -- a CD that must be cherished.Read full review...

U2 : Joshua Tree

A Christian Rock group from Ireland. Where Christianity, is the main theme, for U2. They are also rock n roll. I love the first 2 songs on this CD. Where the streets have no names. If one listens to the song very carefully he is decribing the streets of Heaven, to everyone who listens. (This is a known fact from several interviews with U2). The second song, is: I STill Haven't Found What I Am Looking for. We all feel like this, once in a while, at my second job as a Security Officer, when this song comes on the radio, you can hear it reverberate through out a Construction site. Because in a sense, we all have been there...we are all looking for something that does not exist here.
And we haven't figured it out yet? Listen too these two songs, and you can pretty much figure out, what U2 is telling you about yourself.
