i seen this movie in 97 and i loved it.i found it in a small video store my mom rented from.after i rented it about 5 times i tried to find it at best buy and other such stores and never could.years later i discovered that the guy that directed resident evil and a few other new era type horror flics directed this movie his first time out.after i reminded myself of this movie and decided i wanted bad enough to hunt it down again, i thought that the internet would make it a breeze. it was still not an easy task.i tried every search engine i could think of and i found a few copies but they were either vhs or a scratched dvd. i wanted nothing but a new copy.i was using ebay to purchase parts for my honda and i started using it for new shoes,shirts,subwoofers,books,guitars i thought someone on ebay might have a new copy.sure enough like most everything i come to ebay for i found severak new copies.after hunting for ten years on and of getting discouraged thinking i might not get to see it again, i watched it the minute i got it and it was still a bad motherfucker!its big, its fast, and its fuckin scary to think something like this might live somewhere near or far.the machine targeting system is feramones,it detects your fear.theres nothing fancy about its weapons.it doesnt have guns,missiles or any kind of crazt shit like that.it has huge claws and a head made of teeth that snap and spin.and even better then that, it doesnt look pretty either.all of the hydrolic hoses and pumps are exposed.its raw finish reveals everything from claw to head.theres plenty of blood to keep you happy.the plot is simple,some dicks get trapped in a building with it and the dude that designed it (brad dourif) cut it loose on them after they tried to shut him down.its a bitchin movie for more then just horror fans because its not really a horror movie.theres no cg anywhere.its all props,and i think thats another thing that made the money so bad ass.i wouldnt be dissapointed to see someone film a new version of it,in the right hands an idea like this can go miles further.but for now im contenet with it the way it is.its simply a cool fuckin movie.buy it.Read full review...

I seen the 1h 39m version, it ain't bad but i really like to see like a directors cut version (the 2h 11m version) that has a lot more stuff specific in the movie, plus it makes it a lot more entertainingRead full review...

Reminds me of cool stuff and bad stuff

Pretty cool themed movie. But the acting and storyline is kinda weak. The ending seems not that well thought of. But pretty good movie if your a fan of futurist soldiers and robots.

You'll love this! If you're a strange kinda guy (or girl), you'll love this! Satire, action, a cautionary tale with LOTS OF BRAD DOURIF! And the supporting cast is lots of fun too!
