One of the most professionally created movies ever.

I purchased the movie to educate myself in order to help people with mental issues, including schizophrenia. The story was engaging and somewhat confusing at first since many of the scenes were through the eyes of the afflicted main character, but as it progressed, it all made sense. The cinematography was high end, and the actors chosen were as good as it gets. The movie has a happy ending after years of misery for those directly impacted by the main character's illness. It left me with a feeling of hope in general, not just the issue of mental illness. DVD - A Beautiful Mind (Overcoming Schizophrenia)

I love the depiction of victory over a condition which can be overcome by a lot of prayer and self-will. I have a friend, a Vietnam veteran, who has suffered from schizophrenia for years. He hears voices and sees things that aren't really there. Just as the subject of this movie, my friend has a brilliant mind. Watching the movie gave me a better grasp of what my friend is feeling at those times when his behavior is somewhat erratic. There was no part of the movie that I actually disliked, but was somewhat disturbed by the graphic depiction of the electrical shock treatments.

greatest movie yet

This movie is the type of movie you will watch once and at the ending be like what?!? I so was amazed at the end. It has a little twist. Nothing bad, but it will make you watchi it AGAIN. Then when you watch it again and you know how it ends you see all the things in the movie that you didn't notice before. I will say from the birds to this guy's friends. I won't say more because it will ruin it, but I know you think that sounds weird, but you will see what I mean when you see it. This is also a true story, and goes into the mind of the person and gives you some sort of insight to the subject. I am trying not to ruin the movie by telling what goes on in it. It is to good to ruin it! Russel Crow does a fabulous job with his character!!! FABULOUS! I loved this movie from the beginning to the END! the end is the best, this is a movie I can watch over and over again and not get bored. And since I have seen it like 5 or 6 times, every time I watch it I see something new! You will like it! I haven't met anyone who hasn't liked it. It has to be one of the best movies I have seen! If this were fiction, it would be an example of superior storytelling, and it's certainly gripping. Whether you can fully enjoy its many strengths depends on how comfortable you are with a real, tortured and ultimately tragic life being forced into Hollywood's formulaic straitjacket.Read full review...
