I had purchased a MacPro that had 16GB memory already installed. I needed 32GB memory, but didn't want to have the retailer add it since they overcharge for both the memory and for installation. The memory was a good price and it is easy to install. Don't think that you can't do any installations or upgrades on your Apple computer, because it is made to make installations very easy.
