Better than plastic!

I had purchased the same type item from auto store recently and paid comparable amount. When this item came (for the other door than I had purchased the handle for from the auto store) it ended up being metal from this company and plastic from the auto store. I am so pleased with this handle that I am seriously considering buying the handle from this company for the first door and either saving it until that plastic auto store handle breaks or just replacing it right away. The only issue I had with the metal handle was resolvable with a little "filing" to the cylinder part that holds the lock in place. My original part/lock would not fit into the cylinder area only partially. We kept wondering why we could not get the lock in until we removed the lock itself from the door and studied the matter. (The lock would just fit simply into the old broken handle, but only partially into the new one-the same problem with the "other plastic handle from the other auto store for the other door"-so a common problem I guess). After the small "file down" the lock fits and I am very pleased that the item is metal (like the original handle).Read full review...
