Interesting, unique, platformer/shooter, good graphics.

This game I bought again on Ebay because I remember playing it when it first came out and enjoyed it a lot. I believe this is one of the more rare titles for the SNES as well. The story is a bit far fetched, and it's a little corny as others may put it, but oddly enough the gameplay is pretty good. It's a platformer/shooter, shooter being never ending basketballs that MJ has at his disposal to throw at enemies. There are special attack basketballs like a flame ball and ice ball.. I also think I remember a led ball or something like that. At the end of every level you'll have a boss fight to beat to move on. Oh, in case you were wondering about the premise, MJ's teamates get kidnapped and you (MJ) are going out on your own to save them. I have no idea how he has a never ending supply of basketballs but hey, it IS a video game, and like I said, the gameplay is quite good. One thing which comes to mind that I could compare this game to is Earthworm Jim, also for the SNES (the original). Like Earhworm Jim, this game is a platformer and like Earthworm Jim, this game has an overall feel of humor, though more subtle with Chaos in the Windy City. For the time and the system too, the graphics are pretty impressive. If nothing else though, the creativity and idea for this game were good if you ask me, and quite unique. It could have just as easily been a version of Metroid or Mega Man I suppose, but it's a completely different kind of thing being that MJ is the main character. This game probably isn't a well known title, and even if you do know it, its probably not your favorite SNES title, but I definitely think it deserves a look see. Give it a try, I doubt you will be disappointed.
PS TO REVIEW: Completely unrelated, though interesting thought: I find myself wondering how much money was shelled out to Michael Jordan to appear in this game as the star. Save for Bulls Vs. Blazers (SNES as well) he really wasn't featured in any game for a long long time until recently. It must have been a pretty penny...

Great game

Great game, I loved it! I used to play it when I was younger and for some reason we got rid of it so I wanted to buy it again. It's cheesy, but a fun game to play
