The First And Still Fun

Every Single Mario Party ever made is fantastic! Although Nintendo has improved the game in other Mario Parties, there's no mistaking that the original is still very good and is still very fun! Mario Party 1 doesn't have the best graphics and doesn't have the best mini-games but it's still a great multi-player game. Mario Party 1 also doesn't have any items that you can purchase, but there are certain bonus dice blocks you can get which sometimes can be much nicer than having items. Although the mini-games can sometimes be unfair, it really gives the game a nice twist. The piont of the game is to get the most stars on each board and become the SuperStar. However, beware Bowser for he will do some terrible things to you if you pass by him. Another nice thing about the game is each time you pass the start you get ten or twenty coins from Koopa. That's a very nice feature you won't find on any other Mario Party. Mario Party 1 also includes a single-player mini-game challenge and a multiplayer mini-game stadium. You can also play the boards and the mini-games alone or with others. So no matter what the situation is, you'll have fun with this great game. I've always enjoyed and I still play it often. A Great Classic Game

Mario Party is the first in a long and storied series of games. Based on the premise of playing a board game, Mario Party employs mini-games at the end of every turn (and sometimes during) to allocate coins to the players. Coins are the in-game currency, and can be used to buy items, buy stars (the goal of the game is to have the most stars by the end of the set of turns), and occasionally even steal things from opponents.

With over 60 mini-games in total, you don't have to be great at any particular game to have a chance to win. It's possible to win the game even against seasoned video game veterans. The game features six different playable characters, six or so different boards to play (which can take an hour or multiple depending on how the game is played), and many customizable options (including computer players).

Other game modes include an all-mini game 1 player experienced called Mini-Game Island, which is good for the solitary player wishing for a challenge. A bank and Shop are available for buying different items that modify your game using the coins you acquire in each game. An options menu allows you to hear the entire soundtrack (and voices), along with a few other game options. Finally, players can visit the Mini-Game House where you can buy mini-games for use in the house so you can play them individually. A separate mini-game stadium mode is good for players who want a very simple experience.

All in all, this game delivers. I played it almost a decade ago, and now recently repurchased it. It is worth every penny if you can find it, but I wouldn't suggest trying to find it at game shops. "Legendary" game to waste unwanted time!

-This game is hands down one of my favorite games. Coming from a person who is a avid Xbox 360 player. It's always fun going back to where it all started.

-Description (For those who haven't played): Mario party is, and I REPEAT, the"original" party game of all time. It's fun no matter if you play single player or with your best friends. I always enjoy coming back from college on break and spending a night playing Mario Party. The basic objective of the game is to collect the most stars. You hit a dice and go around a board setup with adventure at every turn. After each player hits the dice once a mini game is played. The winner of the mini game wins 10 coins in most situations. This process is repeated for a specified amount of turns with surprises at every corner.

-Pros- This game is the ultimate party game. This game is best utilized when you play with family and friends. There is a variety of turns to choose from, so you are basically in control of how long you play. There are hours and hours of fun and different maps to pick from. The mini game mode is fun single player addition where you play through all the mini games.

-Cons- Too much time in front of a tv :P

Mario Party. What is so good about it? EVERYTHING!

The orignal Mario Party, was one of the best games made for the Nintendo 64 and in Mario lifetime. The game features a board game that you will usually play on the kitchen table you can play on your tv screen. The mini games were superbly epic and may cause blisters on your hand with all the analog stick rotating mini games ,but the rest of the fun makes up for it. Mario Party is ment to play with friends or company, however it doesnt mean you can only play it when company is over it is also fun in single player agaisnt the dumb or mischivous computer players. The boards bring personality giving each player (including Bowser) thier own board. Mario party is proven to be a long lasting series recycling the same ideas for 10 years but i though each mario Party game is special in its own way, and one of Hudson's best video game frachises. i rate Mario Party a 86% because its a fun game for everyone who plays it.Read full review...

I was thrilled to find this online. Much cheaper than most of the local shops near me too. The game has definitely faced problems with age, but it functions at about 96%.

The Origin of the Series is a Must Have on the N64!

Nintendo had some fantastic ideas for multiplayer on the N64 (including Super Smash Bros and Mario Tennis, Golf and Kart, and this was the beginning of a yearly franchise that has had great success. There is a reason why teenagers and young kids alike would have hand injuries from this game-it is addicting and one of the best to play with friends.

ALMOST BUT!

Now I love Mario party but this one mostly depends on luck. Every 5 turns bowser comes and ruins everything. Like one time I got a star and this CPU had 3 and I had 1 Bowser comes along and takes a star from me when the CPU had 3. 3!! and I had 1. Buy it to compleate the collection and make sure you have friends. Also turn off the mic when playing. I also recomend 4 controllers for 4-8 player battles to make the game funner.
