A Total Winner!

This is DVD of Hayley Westenra's is absolutely outstanding! Her voice is extremely clear, crisp and never wavers. She sings all of her quality songs as of 2005. The director stays on the subject, Hayley, without over directing the camera angles. The high quality sound is in two formats; 5:1 surround sound and stereo, quite surprising for a recorded TV show.

The producers did not scrimp on the orchestra, sets or the accompanying choir providing a richness for Hayley’s signing without being overpowering.

Her younger sister Sophie sings a counter melody as she joins Hayley on “Across The Universe Of Time”. Her sister voice is just as pure as Hayley’s. I had wished to hear more from both sisters in other selections.

“Benedictus” sent chills down my spine, leaving me wonder how this woman hits such high notes.

Hayley’s version of “Wuthering Heights” is a delight to listen to. I prefer her version to any other I have heard.

This is a must have DVD if you are a fan of Hayley Westenra or Celtic Woman.

This is beyound excellent

For a Hayley fan - this is more than a person can handle. She is far better "live" than on the CD's. She is said to have the "voice of an angel" on CD, but this live DVD is - is some kind of miracle.

The orchestra and choir did an excellent job - very well conducted and rehearsed. All local performers. There are also dance performances by New Zealand natives.

The "Set" is beautiful and very detailed. It changes and transforms itself to the mood of each song. It has to be computer controlled.

The camera work and sound is impeccable.

Beautiful concert

Hayley is easily one of the best voices to grace the planet Earth. Especially at the age of 17. Just wish she would do more DVDs. Absolutely outstanding!

Her "Pure" album presented visually

This is Hayley's only individual recorded concert. Although she appears with Celtic Women DVD, "A New Journey, Live at Slane Castle, Ireland." A must have for anyone who enjoys her most beautiful Soprano voice. The DVD is well organized and flows very well. The extras about New Zealand are very interesting and entertaining.Read full review...

Outstanding performance!

I enjoy her singing. This dvd had her performance without much talking between songs. The additional features, which were good, had the talking.

Hayley Westenra

I purchased a DVD of Hayley Westenra a few years back. It is one of my best DVD's. Hayley's voice is wonderful and she has perfect pitch. She started singing very early in her age. Her teachers knew that she was someone special when it came to singing. She is very young, but has joined Celtic Women and is singing with the girls who have been singing for a long time. I think she sings as well as Lisa Kelly on Celtic Women, but sometimes I think she is better. She sings with so much quality and has much more to offer in later years. I will be watching to see where she goes. MLVRead full review...

Hayley Westenra - Live from New Zealand (2005, DVD)

Liked it ...Nice concert plus loads of good extra pieces about Hayleys' background and early life....You have to be in the mood for this sort of music...or have a good musical/singing knowledge so that you appreciate it more.....I don't think it is for pop lovers...

If you find the term 'pitch perfect' interesting ...then you should get this DVD.

Quality not there

I think that it would of been a great DVD except the copy I got was of very bad quality and un-watchable. I'll be looking for another chance to get it.
