Species will thrill, scare...oh forget it. Natasha Henstridge in HD!!!

Natasha Henstridge, in one of the premiere acting performances of this or any other generation, takes off her clothes and runs around naked. Okay, so that is not all that happens in Species, but it's also not that far off.

The movie is about Sil, a half-alien, half-human hybrid that escapes from a facility and commences her dastardly plan: to propagate. For those of you unfamiliar with the birds and the bees, I will not spoil the surprise for you, but suffice it to say that her search for a mate and a bunch of scientist guys cruelly trying to prevent that from happening (and the viewing audience from watching it happen) is a major plot point and all you really need to follow along.

There are a surprising number of big-name stars in this award-adjacent movie, actors like Ben Kingsley, Alfred Molina, Forest Whitaker, and Michelle Williams, but...um...well, none of them are on the box, now are they? No, you are here for Natasha and some classic B-movie goodness, and Species will not disappoint on either front. The special effects are nothing to write home about, and the depth of the story is about as deep as the water in the pool that Sil...oh, never mind.

The Blu-Ray comes with a few special features, like commentary from the director and actors and a couple featurettes, but nothing to get overly excited about.

Overall, this Blu-Ray features Natasha Henstridge running around naked...in high definition. If you really need more of an argument to convince you to buy this movie, then this movie is not for you.Read full review...

Not bad for an older flick

At first I was a little concerned because there was some pixelating in the picture but smoothed out. Not bad overall for high-def but I think that they could of remastered it before transfering it to blu-ray. The movie is pretty much your typical sci-fi hunt down the evil alien, only the evil alien is the incredibly hot Natasha Henstridge in her first movie role and not too mention that she seems to not mind shedding off her clothes like they were on fire. Sadly the sequels condemned this H.R. Giger creature creation to B movies and straight to DVD. Personally I would of liked more screen time for the actual creature, this creature didn't get near the amount of screen time as the creature from the Alien series (also from H.R. It's a good older alien movie.

This is the first in a series of the franchise. This one is my favorite. The second one is good too. If you like the movies Aliens and Predator you would most likely like this film. Also the Alien is played by an actress that looks like a super model.Read full review...

WORST MOVIE E-V-E-R

I'm sorry, but unless you're a hormonal teenage boy this is a PIECE OF CRAP! Poorly acted, horrible graphics, so boring when I originally saw it in the theater the 4 people that bothered to show up besides me (and my girlfriend at the time) where all making out 30 minutes into this crap fest. If you really feel the need to waste your money, please just send $7.99 to me and I will gladly accept it, as payment for saving you an arduous hour and a half of your life you otherwise will never get back.Read full review...
