Steven Wright - When the Leaves Blow (2007, DVD)

Steven Wright is hands down the polytheistic god of deadpan humor. Without batting an eye or a twitch of his lips, he can tell you his dog was raped to death by a banana wielding clown on ecstasy.

In this movie you see his independent short film "One Soldier" and experience through his eyes how he perceives life and death. Also you see some early stand-up and set of some of his funniest material ever.

Interesting but not engrossing. Less funny than earlier works.

First half was interesting, last half was not, too political.He has not aged well. I had also purchased a much earlier VHS of Wright, doing a college session, very fresh, innovative and funny. This later Cd left a lot to be desired.Read full review...

What you would expect

I have been waiting for another great Steven Wright stand-up routine for too long. He is fast, upbeat and just as deep as ever. This is a must have for any Steven Wright fan.

Loaded with laughs

No one in the history of comedy has been able to pull of the jokes that Steven Wright does. They are so subtle that you cant even believe what you just heard. All I have to say is one joke from him. "For my birthday I got a humidifier and a de-humidifier... I put them in the same room and let them fight it out."Read full review...

Not audible

I thought the dvd would be funny if you could hear it...You cannot hear
him. The audience laughter is loud but you miss many of his jokes....I let
other people view this and they had the same complaint....I really lke him
but you cannot hear him....so the dvd is wasted....Read full review...

Arent way of looking at life.

Love his wry sense of humor.The thing I did'nt like was that he talks low , so that you really have to turn the volume up to hear him. Well worth it overall.
