A Cute, Fun Film For the Family.

Happy Feet is a cute fun film the entire family can enjoy. The movie is full of humor that will be appreciated by old and young alike while the music will appeal to audiences of all ages. The animation here is top notch and the voice overs are some of the best in the business featuring talent from Robin Williams, Elijah Wood, Brittany Murphy, Hugh Jackman, and Nicole Kidman. The movie even won an Academy Award for best animated film. The only reason I don't give the film a perfect rating is because there is quite a bit of propaganda towards the end concerning environmental protection and global warming which tends to damper the easy going mood that prevails for most of the movie. All things in consideration, Happy Feet should be an easy choice is you or your family, especially if you enjoy the animated genre.Read full review...

Happy Feet after March of the Penguins

We found this movie to be very accurate as far as the penguin environment. We had recently watched March Of The Penguins which is a documentary on penguin lifestyle and mating. This movie, Happy Feet, followed the same penguin patterns which was very encouraging. Whether you believe your children are being impacted by this or not, it does send a message. Maybe later in life some of the accurate details of penguins may be recalled because of this fun and playful little movie. Watched it with a 3, almost 4, year old who really enjoyed it. Cute! Cute! Cute!

Movie animation was adorable and was well done. The voices were terrific and could not have been better.
Pros: Great music - Children learn a little about nature while exploring Emperor Penguins and their habitats. Learn about the effects of man on nature.
Movie has many funny parts for parents to relate to.
Cons: There is reference to stereotyping certain minorities. Very evident in the movie. I don't believe that this is enough to overshadow the value of the movie, however.
Overall, this is a movie that children and parents will both enjoy watching together. Inspirational and Funny.Read full review...

GREAT TRANSACTION

Imy daughter asked for happy feet last minute, I did not have time to go shopping so I satrted looking on e bay to see if I would find it. To my surprise, it was there I just needed to place an order and pay and it was going to be send over in the next few days just in time for X mas. Great family movie about relationships and change.

I really liked the price I paid, compared to retail store prices. And the movie itself was very engaging. It is great for families with elementary children, because it is about family relationships and change, and lends itself to fostering family discussions after viewing. It has great humor, great music & dancing, warmth of spirit and lessons for all of us. As a plus, everyone can learn something about penguins and their communities. Small children under five yrs old will certainly enjoy the animation, the singing and dancing, even though it may be difficult for some to follow the story line. They could certainly grow into that over time and with some help from adult explanations.

This is a worthwhile movie to own, and for the price I paid, you can't beat it!Read full review...

Happy feet

My son got this movie when he was born in 2006 the course the old one was pretty scratched up so when he wanted to watch it again at age 14 he really enjoyed being able to see the whole movie

What makes a child connect with a movie?

Who knows exactly what makes a child connect with a particular movie? All I know is that my 2 1/2 year old granddaughter will sit, eyes glued to the tv during the entire movie, and then beg to watch it again. She dances the Happy Feet dance all day and her eyes light up when she sees the characters on a store shelf or magazine. The story is adventurous yet sweet, and the messages of tolerance and kindness are heartening; but a movie has to touch the heart of the viewer in order to communicate its messages - Happy Feet definitely makes that connection. Happy penguins teach earth thoughtfulness.

I love the fact that this movie tries to teach environmentally kind treatment of other creatures. The main character Mumbo, is different than all the other Emperor Penguins because he can't sing, but his happy dancing feet at first bring him grief, then ultimately save his clan and all of penguindom, acceptance and tolerance of those different than the leaders. The story line is thought provoking and entertaining. My second copy, my grandson wore out the first one! Watching him dance with the penguins is more than worth the tiny price of this DVD. Happy Feet Makes You Feel Happy

I am not usually a fan of animation. This is this is excellent,I love the music.
my feet wanted to dance. Deeper that that it in a new way shows how if one is different Unique,they are treated like an outcast with shame on their Family and anyone who tries to befriend them. Fortunately Penguins just borrowed this behavior from humans. He tries to resist dancing for his family and would go off alone to dance. To be like God Made him, however, the old men elders cast him out thinking him a freak of nature. I don't want to ruin the ending. As dancing just bubbles it's way out of Mumble, it leaves you with a Lightness of Spirit! I Loved IT.Read full review...

Overall a great childrens' and family movie

Very cute movie that even my fiancé has enjoyed watching over and over again. Was disappointed in how they made one of the characters sound like a "television preacher" for lack of a better way to describe it. I don't know if it was intentional, but I found it insulting as I am a Christian and my sister found it offensive as well. That was the only drawback of this movie.Read full review...
