If this is the hottest party, we're staying home.

Ever been to a party where the DJ plays one song that you almost like for every seven or eight that you don't, but you try to amuse yourself dancing to some of the crap songs anyway? This is kind of like that.
To say that the dancepad-based Dance Dance Revolution: Hottest Party features Wii Remote and Nunchuk integration is an overstatement. The only way you'll use the Remote and Nunchuk is by "swinging" them. The game doesn't even tell you how to swing, and there's no tutorial or practice mode either (we found that a quick shake of either gets the job done). So Hottest Party ultimately has Up, Down, Left, and Right arrows for the dance mat like every other DDR game plus two hand markers that scroll over the Left and Right arrows; it's DDR with six inputs instead of four.

The lack of deeper Wii Remote and Nunchuk functionality initially seems like a letdown since the game requires both (unless you disable hand markers in the options). But after diving into the game's Groove Circuit Mode -- the main quest mode where you'll complete audience requests at a variety of venues and unlock new songs, dancers, and stages -- you might find yourself actually having fun when you can stand the music. Shaking the controllers while stepping around is a blast.

DDR:Hottest Party for the Wii

The DDR for the Wii is VERY different from the DDR for Playstation2. The DDR for the Wii involves very tricky foot work and hand motions. It's much more challenging. Once you get the hang of it, it's pretty awesome. The DDR for the Wii has better songs, but you have to watch out for some of the lyrics around younger children. The graphics are nice, but I think the DDR for the Playstation2 has better graphics...the screen gets to busy on the Wii. The mats are very different as well. The mats for the Wii are very thin and tend to stick to your feet or move. Overall, this is a decent game and will provide hours of fun and activity.Read full review...

Great aerobics on a rainy day!

I got Wii last xmas.. The next week i picked up DDR Hottest party 2! Ive been playing it and unlocked all the songs, so I wanted to go back and see what songs hottest party 1 had. I have to say I like the songlist of HP1 better, altho "love shine" is a hard song to beat!

Some mats work with HP1, Will NOT work with HP2.. You need ADAPTERS..

I bought 2... just like original mats on ebay. Brand new, 1 inch thick foam.. awesome pads. they come in pairs for 29.99 free shipping! Also comes with 2 free adapters, and they are compatable for both DDR 1 and 2!

Its weird that the company Konami did that, I googled it and some said they did it coz the 3rd party pad makers were stealing sales...

Just be careful buying pads :)

Hp1 cool songs, love shine is a fun song to get "stuck" on.

Hottest party 2 saves it when you turn off nunchucks, you dont have to change it everytime you start the game.

Its actually better if you get DDR2 first, for the Wii its much more user friendly lol

HP2 u can unlock the option to use your Mii... lol

Great games for the wii!

Get the 1 inch foam pads, your body will thank you... :)

Dance Dance Revolution: Hottest Party (Wii)Dance Dance

I'm a 32yr old female. This is one of the best WII games that I have tried so far. I wish it had more music selections, but what they have is good. We should be able to upload some music to it...that would be cool:) Nevertheless, it's great exercise and fun. I was out of breath trying to beat my 8yr old son. I'll keep playing until he's defeated. If you get this game, you have to invest in the dance pads...if you don't, you'll miss the real fun:) Happy dancing.....Read full review...

DDR Wii Hottest Party

Ok, i havn't played it too much but, here goes...
It seems pretty neat, It has a calorie target that keeps you going so that you can use it a a legit workout. Song choices are weak at first but i think you can unlock a lot more. Lots of fun, but i was embaressed by how bad i am. The pad and controller worked flawlessly and are way faster than my arms and legs. I was sweating!!! Simple interface, fun, usefull for a workout, might get repetitive.Read full review...

Super fun game even after all these years

Took some time to get used to the new hand controls, but they're fun and add a good mix to the game!

DDR Wii

Not available in stores in our area, it was great to find DDR Wii on Ebay.
This game includes not only feet movement direction but it also includes arm movements. The arm movements seem very lame, and not at all with the expression of the music. Though it adds a level of difficulty, it is not a possitive addition to the actual expression of the dance. My children refer to
the arm movements as point bombs! There is still room for improvement to the graphics of this physical game. It would be nice to see top 40 songs of the year included in these packages. (Hip Hop / Pop / and Rap of 2007-2008) The songs seem very dated.

It's doing what I wanted it to do...

...and that is keep my 7 year old son busy when he can't go outside. He's a fan of the DDR series from the PS2. He got a Wii for his birthday last year and DDR3 for Christmas. My wife was complaining about hearing the same songs over and over while my son was playing. I found this along with DDR2 and thought it was a good investment for the price of the two. My wife is happier now that there are new songs to hear and my son loves being able to play more songs. It's a great way for him to burn off energy and fall asleep quicker at night also. What's not to like?Read full review...

Dance Dance Revolution Hottest Party for Wii

Great item. Make sure when you buy it you get the game and the mat. I ordered one and received just the mat. Did not check into it until I was ready to play and then had to find someone selling just the game. Game itself is for all ages, although a bit complicated at first to figure out. Will try other versions as well. Great exercise once mastered.Read full review...

DDRevolution: Hottest Part

It gives varity to the Dancing w/the Stars game and a better lower body workout. Love the music; it should be mentioned it the listings that you use both the pads and the wimote/nunchuck. Does take serious coordination and timing skills. Lots of fun once you get the hang of it. Great addition to the Wii.Read full review...
