The Force is strong in this one

When i first saw the commerical for this game, i was like WOW. Finally be a Sith and have the Force powers do Fry anyone in your way!

Now buying the game, i knew this apprentice of Darth Vader would only go so far. Ive seen the episodes NUMEROUS times. Set between episode 3 and episode 4, we are in control of a mercenary that does the bidding of Darth Vader. Through out the game i never knew Anakin could be so 2 faced! Kind of repetitive through some of the levels, but the ability to Fry ppl made up for it. I played it a second time hardly using my litesaber and just electrifying people.

By the end of the game, you actually beat Vader, and i was like.. THIS cant be! And your so AMPED up, you think you can take on the emperor himself. Foolish. I almost felt sorry for the apprentices ending. almost.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed PS2 Pros / Cons

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed! A Great title! All in all its a great game and even snks up to a good part of the starwars story line! Has a great story line with great acting and endepth character concepts but for the playstation 2 i feel like its lacking after playing it for the xbox 360 myself! With less graphics than the 360 the character detailing is at fault when it comes to the cut scenes not having as big of an impact on players as it did on me for the 360! Its still a good game an fun! with advanced player controls and force powers big explosions and killer moves and saber combat! your definately not making a bad choice if your purchasing this game regardeless the system! But after all the fun it still seems to short, the game starts out too easy and ends up being really hard twards the end and is easily completed within a day or two! I feel like the experience should have lasted longer! It might be a better game to rent than to buy if your looking for a drawn out adventure! Still Highly Recommended!Read full review...

Great Game! Good for it’s time compared to Jedi: Fallen Order.

I remember when this game released years ago, this was such a fun game then and still is now! Graphics are really weak compared to the newest released game. Still its a great game for 2006!

The Force Unleashed-name says it all!

This game is totally amazing. You get to use powers only associated with the dark side, and then choose to remain a Sith or become a Jedi. Game could be a little longer, and the fact that you can't save progress with certain codes enabled is a major bummer. Otherwise, it's a great game with plenty of missions, incentives, mystery and intrigue that has made Star Wars a pop-culture phenomenon for decades.Read full review...

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed (PlayStation 2, 2008)

This game has a good story around it, the player action is good and there are challenging levels. It is easy to play and has a lot of powers that you have to use in order to advance to different levels. I am not very skillful when it comes to play video games but this game was fairly easy to play and I will recommended to buy it, not the best I have seen but not the worst. Good look in your gaming experience with this game and may the force be with you...!!!!!!!!Read full review...

Success or Blunder?

After playing several Star Wars games for the Playstation 2 between 2002 and 2008, my interest for the series dwindled.

It all started with the remarkably dull Star Wars Starfighter (2001) which kept me playing until the tutorial was over, at which point I set aside the game in my closet and never returned to it. Starfighter was followed by the slightly more successful Star Wars Jedi Starfighter in 2002 but was, more or less, cast aside like the first. Lucas Arts continued to produce fighter or pod racing games, such as Star Wars: Super Bombad Racing and Star Wars: Racer Revenge, which were interesting to some degree but nothing to keep in a collection that's for sure. Star Wars: The Clone Wars was half-way decent and from there, the series saw some serious improvement. Star Wars: Battlefront I and II, Star Wars: Bounty Hunter and Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith were all excellent additions to the series and each explored a different game play route that failed to leave me bored. The two Lego Star Wars that came out afterwards equated to complete failure; if you've ever played a Lego version of cartoon or movie on the Playstation 2 then you have an idea of what I mean. Oddly enough, Star Wars: KOTOR I and II were massive hits compared to previous games released to the Playstation 2. The only downside is that they were made for the XBOX and not the Playstation 2.

Finally, Lucas Arts developed a game that exceeded my expectations and matched the quality of the film series in every aspect. Star Wars: The Force Unleashed was released in September 2008 and was a huge hit. It sold over 5.7 million copies worldwide by February of 2009 and single-handedly succeeded where all other games in the series failed.

The game takes place between the Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: A New Hope. Darth Vader takes on a new apprentice, Starkiller, and sends him on various missions with a single purpose: to kill the Jedi. Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is unique in that it provides new parts to the story as it moves through the plot. It wasn't just a game, it was a mini-installment that allowed Star Wars fans to get their next fix of their favorite sci-fi.

Many individuals complain about the plot. I find it to be interesting enough to play the entire game through without a break. As mentioned before, you are in command of Starkiller, Darth Vader's apprentice. Each mission that you carry out has the sole purpose of eliminating a Jedi. Along the way, Starkiller finds romantic interest in his pilot and discovers a new beginning when he teams up with the Jedi.

The controls, moves, combos, etc remind me a lot of any well-developed fighting game. They are complicated at first and can be frustrating to learn but, in learning them and using them, you'll find that the missions aren't as hard or as long as if you hadn't took the time to learn them.

Ultimately, the game was short. The levels themselves were overly long and seemed to be repetitive in nature (for example, find the Jedi, kill the random obstacles along the way and then, kill the Jedi). However, the plot, the unique approach to the lightsaber and the force, and the vivid fighting scenes made up for the lack of differentiation in levels.

By far, this is the best game in the series. Easily beatable if you have the time and definitely worth whatever the going rate is.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is a complete success and definitely earns a spot in your collection.

child loved it parent approved it! 8+ excellent graphics and action

my 8 year old son begged me for this game. hes used to playing the lego star wars games and this one i thought he would have trouble with however he managed to get past many levels and unlock lots of things on the first day. great graphics good strategy mild violence(light sabor fighting). theres no blood and guts in this game and i feel that its suitable for a mature 8 year old and up. this is the next level up from those lego star wars games. its a little more realistic character wise. this isnt a low budget made video game. its a really popular game even now that ps2 is on the verge of extinctionRead full review...

Best Star Wars Ever!

This game is great because of the combinations you can create with Force power usage. You can pick someone up, choke them, then electricute them, throw them into others and they explode! Crazy! I have never seen an AT-ST wadded up into a ball and thrown to the ground with such an explosion or stabbed a rancor in the back of the neck, slid down it's back dragging my lightsaber along the way. ....wow...

Here's some things that are different:

- You don't hold your lightsaber upside down in the PS2 version. Not a huge deal, but I was a little disappointed.

- When you use some of the character costumes like Luke Skywalker, or Han Solo, most of the cut scenes don't work.

- The storyline is awesome because it is true to the nature of the Sith. Play it and you'll see.

All around, a great game. I'd say best ever made for first person shooter engine! It does end a bit quickly, but like any true Star Wars fan, I don't really care! It's Star Wars, so I love it!

Excellent Action Packed Game With The Right Name

I brought this for Christmas for my son and he is in love with this game. When I brought it, I was thinking it was just another Star Wars game and would not get much play. Boy, was I wrong. Only two other games get played as much by my son. He especially loves playing multiple characters. As I watch him play the unnamed Jedi character, I enjoy how this character goes from bad to good. It is written better than most movies in the theaters in the last few years. It is a nice filler between the last Star Wars movie and the original first movie. I see why my son likes it so much and why it is his top two of three all time favorite games. The only down side, is that I can't get to use the PS2 as much now. (HA, HA!) Seriously, the title of this game is perfect!Read full review...
