FUN, FUN, FUN.

It arrived on time, packaged well, and brand-new. The options to input cheats add another level of fun, in addition to all the great radio stations you can listen to in cars. There is a lot to do, many missions, even if you want to do nothing but cruise around running people over and listening to the radio. From what I've played, this is the best of the series, as the later ones don't give you as much freedom or are as much fun.Read full review...

Better than Good

I'll keep this short, I loved the first Saints Row and I've always been a fan of Volition's games.

What I like about Saints Row 2 more than Saints Row:
1. You can design and sculpt your own character extensively. You could easily recreate yourself in game. The first game had that too, but this time you can also be female.
2. There are a ton of activities.
3. The map is huge. It's basically the same island layout as the first game, but a lot of the streets have changed for the better.

What I don't like about Saints Row 2 that was better in the first Saints Row.
1. The camera behind the car is tilted back too much. I end up crashing a lot more because of it. The first game had a perfect camera behind cars.
2. The graphics feel a bit desaturated. Colors and graphics aren't as crisp as they were in the first game. There's more motion blur. Worst of all, the fire looks more like fire colored smoke. The fire and explosions in the first game were breathtakingly beautiful.
3. You have to go to every activity, store, and other locations on the map before you know what they are. I spent a couple real days just going around everywhere figuring out where everything was. The first game wasn't so annoying in that regard.

Overall, while I'm sad to see the bright crisp graphics of the first Saints Row replaced with motion blurs and washed out colors and the screwing up of the car camera angle and fire effects, Saints Row 2 is still a great game. If they hadn't messed with those things, it would be near perfect. I'm still impatient though and end up using the money cheat a lot. It's near impossible to buy a decent wardrobe in the game and also purchase the cribs if you don't cheat. I guess I should also mention that I don't like the menu as much as in the first game. But, the controls are still as good as ever and you can use the face buttons, triggers, or left thumb stick to accelerate, so it's easy to drive no matter what you prefer.

Good game, but expect to occasionally be slapped around a bit in-game.

It's a fun game. Just as entertaining as Grand Theft Auto 4, with none of the annoying phone calls from your cousin.

I only give it 4 stars because the difficulty levels of missions vary wildly. They can change from tutorial-level easy to ball-bustingly difficult. As an example, I played 3 missions back to back to back in the same storyline (I'm already 4-5 missions into this storyline at this point): the first mission was a 2 minute cutscene, then I need to get a 4-star wanted level (not too difficult,) then the last mission, I have to use a jet-ski to get to a yacht, while dodging 1-hit kill missiles from a helicopter! And once I was finished on the Yacht, I had to do it again in a speedboat!Read full review...

All-round fun game

Saints Row 2 is a step up from its first installment with a bit more customization options. Whether customizing your hideouts, your gang members outfits and vehicles they drive, even your own appearance from clothing to hair styles, SR2 has allot to offer. There are many missions to accomplish as well as side activities to do to make money in order to purchase vehicles, properties, clothing. There are a few small glitchy elements and some missions tend to get a bit ridiculous as at times you get surrounded by other gangs all wielding automatics and rocket launchers. But it does not take too much away from the game. Saints Row 2 is certainly worth playing.Read full review...

Saints row 2 nb

When i first got this game i was slightly upset, because after playing the first one it seemed like they just used the same exact city and just put new missions on it. I was wrong, after exploring the city for an hour or so i found out how much different the game is, completely different set-up for houses and homebases and some new interesting stuff.. The controls are the same as the previous, which is hard to get used to again after playing gta iv, but ive gotten back to figuring it out easily. overall its not the greatest game, but has alot of new fun missions which will entertain for hours.Read full review...

Good game, a lot of fun. Better than I expected.

Saints Row 2 is quite actually a very good game. I never was interested in the series, having never played the first, until a friend of mine asked me to try it out, as to play co-op together. Now I'm hooked. Its another open world gang violence game, like that of Rockstar's infamous Grand Theft Auto. However in many ways, it's much better than GTA. First off it does have 100% co-op campaign, no mission is undo-able. This is the main reason that I was attracted to it. It has a long list of vehicles. Land, sea and air. It has a wide array of vehicle customization, which is something that I personally do like. There are many clothing options to choose from, along with a in depth character customization. Ranging from both sex and race, and all the way down to the minuet details of your face.

There are a few gripes I have, however nothing big. I don't like that there is no place to purchase planes or helicopters. There is a location to buy boats, bikes and cars, but no place for a plane. It's not a big gripe, but when many of the planes are few and far between, and when you do find them they typically are in a lovely shade of bright green, it'd be a little easier. The only other gripe would be that even though they do price a lot of the items up to compensate for the mass amount of money you'll have, you wont have to buy much. Food is nice but I find myself never using it, there are ways to get infinite ammo for most/all of the weapons that you'll need so the cost of ammo becomes obsolete, and you wont have to buy cars or bikes because most of them are easily found on the ground. Money is hard to come by early, but once you start the missions, you'll be rolling in it.

Saints Row 2

I was actually able to play this one through to the end, I liked it that much. Storyline is kinda cheesy but the random hilarious one-line jokes make up for it.

Car controls are good and about the same as GTA4. The Helicopters are kind of hard to control especially if you even so much as tap something. Doing so can send the chopper flying off it at super speed eventually flipping the chopper.

Some of the activities are a blast to do and having not played Saints Row 1 makes me wish I had. Overall this game is good but there are areas where it could be improved like boat/helicopter controls, and the ability to revive allies who have fallen in water (which you currently can't do.)

Fun Game, though only for mature audiences

Game seems to be rather fun. It's kinda like a twist on the Grand Theft series. Stealing cars, shooting, etc. It has a few different features though, like controlling hoods and that sort of stuff. All and all, it's worth looking into for a good price, but I'd only recommend it for more mature audiences, 18 plus because of the gore and suggestiveness.Read full review...

Saints Row 2 - What makes this so great?

Ok, first off, Saints Row 2 is one of my favorite games of all time. The amount of gameplay hours is amazing! Alright let's jump in, I'll try not to write too much...

Story
The story is great! You just escaped from jail after being in a coma for many years. There are 3 new gangs taking their stake of the city, and you want it all to yourself. The 3 gangs are the Brotherhood, Sons of Saumbi, and the Ronin. There are 3 seperate storylines for each gang, and you can choose which missions you want to do, whenever you want. You will really get into it and want to know what happens next. If you've ever played GTA, you'll be pleasently surprised by how interesting the story is.

Gameplay
The gameplay is smooth and there is so much to do. The map is pretty big, but not too big that it seems like there's too much traveling. Besides missions markers, your map is filled with stores such as gun stores, clothing stores, tatoo parlor, restaurants, liquior stores, car stores, mechanic shops, and more. You can rob stores, or just spend money at them (lol). There is also side activity markers on your map. These are activities you can do for extra money and respect (respect needed to do missions). The side activites are AMAZING. Every one of them is extremely fun and has 6 levels of difficulty. The missions and the side missions alone are 50+ hours of gameplay.

Customization
The amount of options you have on this game is overwhelming!!! In the beginning of the game you will spend 15 minutes deciding on a hair style (not kidding). In addition to the beginning of the game, you also have clothes stores which offer a wide variety of clothes that you can change the color and design of. And back in your crib, you have a wardrobe where all your clothes are automatically stashed and you can change your clothes there whenever.

This game has a LOT of cars. And to make it even better, they are all customizable in the mechanic shop. You can change the wheels, the hood, the spoiler, the color, the grill, make it a convertable...anything! You will spend hours customizing cars! Now unlike some games (GTA), in Saints Row you have a garage outside your crib. It's more like a space you park your car in than a garage. And here's the best part...The garage has almost infinite storage space (I've never filled it and I've tried) and your cars always return to your garage even if you accidently blow them up or leave them somewhere!!! AND you can use your phone to call a homie that will bring a car from your garage to you in seconds! If that's not enough you can always call a taxi and go anywhere instantly...anyway it's all great.

Coop
The coop makes this game stand out from any other ever made. Saints Row 2 is 100% coopable!!!! That means you can hop into your friends world anytime you want and you can do missions together, do side activities together, rob stores together, go crazy, do whatever you want! This game's coop never feels forced either, all the coop in activities and everything works smoothly like it was made for coop.

Multiplayer
The online multiplayer is underated in my opinion. It consists of 2 game modes and around 10 maps. It is really fun and I won't get into detail, and unfortunately not a ton of people play it. You shouldn't have a problem getting a match though.

Replay Value
This game has one of the best replay values I've ever
