NFL Head Coach 09 (Playstation)

If you love to coach, you will love this game. It is a one of a kind game. There are several bugs in the game, but overall it is a good game. Another disagreement that I have with the game is there are no play audibles, and at the end of the second or fourth quarter the team automatically goes into hurry-up offense, which would be good except there are not audibles! so your team keeps running the same damn play over and over until you call a timeout. EA made many changes in this update. The 08 version was way to easy, if you practiced your team you would win every game. This game isn't anything like the old version. If your team sucks, and your players don't fit the organization, you will lose many games. The draft and FA bidding is superb. EA adopted an eBay style bidding system for FA contracts. I decided to buy this game because I was looking forward to improvements to the old version. I was pleased to find many improvements. EA totally revamped this game. I am looking forward to another version. I really hope EA will make another. If you are looking for a game that requires intelligence, and you like to coach, this game is for you. If you don't like to use your brain, and just want to beat cars with a baseball bat, buy GTA.Read full review...

NFL Head Coach 2009

Love the control, financial impact each team has in unloading or trading star players. The office control is amazing, but the gameplay lacks.

My biggest peeve is the choice of camera angles. I prefer the coach angle (as seen last in NFL Head Coach 06). Just a ridiculous and shoddy selection, when the main purpose is coaching there should be an option for that ground angle from the sideline.

Very bizarre handling of the practice times as well. I again prefer the practices seen in NFL Head Coach 06, which were more hands on and allowed you to pick individual players to run particular plays repetitively.

It went beyond my expectations with the office and financial aspects of the game, but they really dropped the ball with the practice and gameday options.

Head coach 09

Yes I know we didnt have the game engins we have now but the Gameplay is okay, physics terrible, camera angles terrible. Could of been more options in the game itself has potential......I would really like to see head coach come back for the newer gen councles has potential to be a top rated series like madden, nba, mlb, gta ect.....in a way make it with the features in the headcoach games but make the game graphics and physics like updated madden gamesRead full review...

NFL Head Coach 09

Overall great coaching game...But dont get all warm and fuzzy on the couch curling up to a spot of coffee or Red Bull. You will be up in a matter of hours with many game freeze screens.Besides you having to get off your rump at any given time this game has a lot to offer.I chose the Lions so of course I wasnt happy with my picks last season ....So they let me redraft my way...after Mendenhall here and Ryan there I was on my way. Great game with so many options just a little dicey at first. I gave it a 4 out of five.Read full review...

In-Depth Game for Football Fundamentals...

NFL Head Coach 09 is a very good game to learn how to operate and control a NFL football team and franchise. From the makers of EA Sports, and very similar with the looks and graphics of the Madden Franchise. You learn different strategy's to play the upcoming team and make your playbook accordingly. You can even design plays and use the same playbook with the Madden franchise. An excellent game to learn all the operations, tactics, signing of coaches, everything that a general manager and owner would do. Well worth the money spent.Read full review...

It was alright

In the very beginning it had the potential of being the best game I've ever played but when I got through 6 to 7 years with the Falcons it was getting hard to keep my budget in order. I had to redo my career multiple times because I had the same problem. It was a very good game by bidding on players and great depth chart. I have to say the older NFL Head Coach was a lot easier to become a great this game it took me almost the whole game. Overall it was a decent game.Read full review...

Head Coach '09

I was very disappointed in this game. I absolutely loved the original Head Coach game. I had it for the PS2. I upgraded my system to a PS# and figured my first game would be NFL Head Coach 09. I was excited to have updated rosters and players. Well I started playing the game and everything was different. I felt like I didn't have any kind of control of what I wanted to do. I personally didn't like the camera angles either during game play. There were some nice changes, like how they simulate the days. Overall I hated it. Why do these game companies always have to ruin games with their so-called "Improvements?"Read full review...

Real Coaching

You get exactly what the title says, to play as a head coach. In career mode, you handle everything from calling the plays (not playing it out like on Madden however), to working on contracts with players, hiring new coaches, scouting and drafting new players. Keeping your approval rating up sounds like a hard thing to do but is actually incredibly easy. Overall, a very fun game if you have the time to put in.Read full review...

Excellent Game

Unlike Madden and NFL 2k11, this game is for those who want to COACH an NFL team and not necessarily control individual players. It also includes management of the salary camp of a team, the draft, free agency acquisition of players, etc.

If you really like the management side of the NFL, this is an excellent game for that part of the game.
