Fully charges batteries fast, including old fashioned alkaline!

Initial use reaction is that this is the battery charger I've been looking for, and at a good price. Turned out the previous name brand battery charger I was using was not charging until batteries were fully charged but rather was using a simple timer, the result being that the batteries were never fully charged. This MaximalPower charger not only stays on until the battery is fully charged but you can charge one at a time or any combination of the same type of battery, and it does it fast. Most of the batteries I charged were ready for use after a couple of hours. There was one C sized NiMh battery that took more than four hours. The MaximalPower charger has a display that indicates how drained each battery is, whether it's a bad battery, and shows you that it's charging and how much it is charged. Plus it has a selector switch which lets you pick the type of battery you want charged, including old fashioned 'non-rechargeable' alkaline. I put four D size alkalines in it, immediately was told one was bad, the other three took about two hours to charge. I hope this charger lasts longer than the name brand charger I just replaced. Terrible product that proves you can't reliably recharge alkaline batteries

Terrible product that proves you can't reliably recharge alkaline batteries. Yes, it does work (to some degree), but it doesn't charge discharged alkalines to any real usable level. They only hold about 25% their original capacity, if at all. Maybe only enough to run an LCD clock for a couple days. They also ALL eventually leak, often while charging, but will definitely leak while sitting after being charged. They self-discharge really fast, within days. The lesson: Don't bother trying to recharge alkaline batteries. There's a reason alkaline recharging never took off. It's another case of, "if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is."

After a few weeks, some battery juice leaked and made it so only 2 of the 4 slots can work at all.
Might be an okay NiMH/NiCd charger, but I already had much better chargers for that.

Love this charger, its freaking awesome

Well I just received it today, but thus far I am super happy with it. Love the recharging alkaline (non-rechargeable) ;-) only thing that could possibly make this item better would be if it could also charge lithium batteries :-( oh well, It is what it is, and its the best I've ever seen, for what it is.

Stopped working after 6 months

I bought one of these in January 2020. By mid July it no longer worked- the screen was flashing erratically.
However, when it did work, it worked well. It charged alkaline batteries- not as if brand new, but it did extend the life of them. As well, it charged the NiCd perfectly. I liked this unit but was dismayed that it only lasted 6 months.Read full review...
