just a little overrated

I had been trying to purchase one of these styles of watches.. I finally got this particular version, and it's really nice, but I was a little 'meh' about the watch.. it's a little smaller than I thought they would be.. I can barely see the digital numbers, unless the lights just right or I've pressed the light button.. no hourly chime, one alarm (unlike the Casio siblings with multiple alarms). Still a nice watch to keep in my collection...Read full review...

Disappointed

Watch face is too small. Minute hand is too long and it is easy to mistake the bottom end for the hour hand. The night light is absolutely useless as it does not even light up the watch face, only the very small digital display that I can only see by putting on my glasses. As it is a casio I am confident that I will get man years of reliable service from it. It is just a pity that I can not easily use it for it's intended purpose ie to be able to see the time at night as well as in the day.Read full review...

Durable like all G shocks, not too big,

I like the watch a lot, the reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is the following reasons. It seems that the only way you can set the analog dial hands is to press (1) button. You have to wait for it to go forward though all the hours of the day until you get to the time you want. If you go 2 minutes past, you CAN'T go backwards the 2 minutes. You have to go through the whole 12 hour day to get back 2 minutes. That seems like it would burn a lot of battery powers and its a PAIN in the ARS. I also don't like the fact that it has no BACKLIGHT, to light up the watch face so that its easier to see the time in the dark. The digital lights up but I have that set on month and day. The hands glow but very faintly if you haven't been out in the daylight for hours. Besides that its a great watch.Read full review...

Casio G-Shock G100-1BV

I bought my first G-Shock in the 70's and have had numerous since then. One of the things I have always loved is being able to tell the time in the dark because of the well lit face on demand. This watch is attractive but when you push the light button in the dark you find out what the date is. The luminescent hands only are visible for a short time after the lights go out. Other than that it is a nice, attractive watch with the typical G-Shock durability. If I were to do it over I would probably have researched a bit further and found one that was more to my liking. There are many styles in the G-Shock now.Read full review...

Casio G shock is great

Casio G shock watches are ideal for people working on equipment. They are fairly safe around electricity, oblivious to magnetic fields and the resin cases can take a lot of abuse without getting scarred up. I gave my nearly 20 year old one to one of our employees working as a printer and bought two new ones, one for myself and one for my son. I chose this model because it's a bit more conventional than many of the G shock series, simple hands and not a lot of gimmicks.Read full review...

Love Watch!

Super Strong indestructible retro stylish watch! My buddy recommended it because I needed a watch my Skater Son wouldn't break. My freind, who did extreme sports said," This is the watch he needs. I still have mine from the 80's Over 35 years , it still works, I still wear it. That watch has been through many brutal things." My Son loves the watch!Read full review...

Appears to be well made and comfortablly light.

Place the Rolex in the watch-winder and enjoy wearing this special purpose watch around water- hunting, fishing, boating, etc. Adjustable band actually adjusts to different wrist sizes surprisingly well. Don't be surprised if you wear this watch most of the time as time goes on- no "pun" intended.Read full review...

This is not another poorly thought out review of this watch

I did my homework before buying this watch. I read reviews and went to a jewelry store to look at the watch and see how it would look on my wrist. Too many people seem to have written their reviews of this product without doing their homework, and they seem to be surprised by some things that they should have known before forking over the dough to buy one. That said, here's my review:

This watch is the perfect size for me. A lot of reviewers wrote about how it is not as large as other G-Shock watches. When I bought mine, I read reviews and product descriptions first before I went to look at the watch in a local store. Had the other reviewers taken the time to at least read about the watch, they'd have known that it is smaller than other Casio models.

It is attractive and has the basic functions that I wanted. Frankly, I don't need a watch that has a lot of bells and whistles; if I did, I would have bought one that did.

The backlight illuminates the digital display well, but does not do much for the hands, but I knew this (again) because I read other people's reviews and saw the watch for myself. Also, some other reviewers wrote about the luminescent hands not glowing in the dark for very long... are you kidding me? Have they never had an analog watch before? The glow-in-the-dark material that have been used for like 70 years or more do not glow indefinitely now any more than it did back in the day. Surprise! Surprise!

Another comment in a few other reviews that I thought was particularly ludacris was that they "had trouble distinguishing the minute hand from the hour hand." First, did they look at the pretty pictures before they bought? Obviously not! Listen, if you're too stupid to tell time on this watch (which is NOT hard to read), give it up and buy a digital!

Here's the bottom line: do your homework. Figure out how big you want your watch to be, then read the item description. Read the reviews, and (if possible) go to a store that sells this item to see how it looks in the flesh. THEN, if it passes muster, buy it. If it doesn't, then don't.

Great watch for a great price!

This is a good option for you if the GA110 is too big for your wrist.
It has analog and digital time, digital date and stopwatch.
The only downside is the light doesn't illuminate the analog hands at all.
They "glow" in the dark.
The light just illuminates the digital display.
But the size is perfect for me for any every day watch.
I own a few bigger g-shocks and love them, but they are a bit bulky sometimes as my wrist is on the smaller size.
Now if only the G100 came in more color options.

Good watch but note the following:

Good watch but two things to note: (1) the dial is relatively small, about 1-1/2 inches (2) time and other functions are set by a series of small buttons around the edges of the watch and can be a little difficult to set if you have large hands,Read full review...
