Fun for all ages.

I had waited long for a dance (pad) game suitable for younger children and was THRILLED when I saw this product. I bought it for my 5 and 7 year old boys who love Wii and are very active. The game was everything I had hoped, just the manuvering through the menues was somewhat confusing and frustrating. My 5 year old has a little hard time reaching all the sides of the pad quickly because he has short legs. They love the fact that you can chose to be Disney charachters or import your Mii, also you can dress them up in Disney costumes. The music and staging is "peppy" and entertaining. I tried it myself a while and liked it. We have had it a month and still haven't figured out the hand remote part of the game. It seems that the Wii does not register the hand-movments accurately, so you miss points for not doing it correctly. (Guess I should read the manual) There is an option to turn off the hand-remote part, but even if you do, the symbols for hand-movments appear. Overall, a very good and though-through product, but still somewhat hard to figure out and my kids got bored with it surprisingly fast.Read full review...

Fun and good exercise

it's great for getting exercise while having a good time. It was really hard to figure out how to maneuver around the screens at first. Reading the manual only helped if you had played with the program first. It was almost too hard to figure out, and I was thinking I had wasted my money. Also, the dancing is a lot harder than you think it would be. But after using the program for a while, I have gotten accustomed to it and really enjoy it, getting over an hour of exercise at a time. It's great that the dances aren't easy, otherwise you would get through all of them in a short time and have no use for the program anymore. The challenging nature of the program is what gets you to keep coming back for more.Read full review...

Lots of fun!

It's for an older console, so expectations must be adjusted, and proper hardware must be used to ensure compatibility with newer TVs, etc. That being said, the games are a lot of fun. The Disney version is more whimsical and less difficult, and HP2 has a few more customization options. It's easy to forget you're getting a workout in.Read full review...

Fun for everyone, great exercise - improvement of a few features helpful

Great game - fabulous way to get the heart pumping. I wish it saved your progress, time, calories, anything in the exercise mode. I don't know why you have a login. The kids love it. My four-year-old loves to play with me. It is nice that I can set her on the beginner mode while I play on a more advanced setting. Fun for everyone in the family.Read full review...

Fun but had some issues

Lots of fun. Would have liked the ability to dance as all the characters and have more control over who you are dancing with. Hand controllers are not as receptive as I would like (Compared to WII fit games). 'Earning' the costumes is not going well with my 4 yo. He wants to dance as Goofy and that has not been unlocked as to this point.

Also I had such an issue plugging and playing the mats I thought I had a lemon mat. Turned out not to be the case but setup did not go smoothly.

Best family Wii game we have ever bought!

This is one of the best games we have purchased for the Wii platform. The older kids were a bit tentative at first as it was a "little kids game," but after finishing the tutorial they are absolutely loving it. They can't wait for their next turn on the mats... and it looks like we may just need to buy two additional mats to be able to have the four player experience. Our 4 year old still has some difficulty, but us successful on the Basic level, while the rest of us 8 - adult vary in ability.
We bought this to ensure that the music selection was appropriate for all ages, and were not disappointed. One downside to the tunes is that some of the songs lack a good "beat" and steps seem slightly out of sync with the music. The only other down side is not being able to interrupt a selection once started.
Comparatively, this is the best dance game we have played for the Wii system, and one that fits our family the best. At the more difficult levels you can break a sweat as you try to shake and step to all of the cues. Not real cardio, but good fat burning fun.

Fun For All

The game is a lot of fun for everyone. The songs are not the Disney versions everyone loves but okay. The instructions tell you not to use socks or shoes on the mat but your feet stick if you don't use socks. Inspite of these issues my 5 year old and I had a lot of fun playing.Read full review...

My chance to play DDR

I love playing DDR I had three of them for my PS2 but when we got the wii I got rid of them. I bought this particular one because I love disney and I love DDR. It has hand and feet steps which was hard for me because I am not that coordinated, but once I figured out how to turn those off things were great and just like normal. My children play this with me and we love it, it's a great game for "Friday Family Fun Night"Read full review...

DDR For Kids

This is everything you like about DDR but for kids with all of the disney characters. My children loved being able to pick there Mii and dress it in disney outfits. We bought a second mat so that the kids can join each other in the fun. The one mode that I really enjoyed is the friendship mode which takes the competition out of the game for the kids and really takes the fighting out that can occur.Read full review...
