Good for most items

I purchased the General Tools 505 engraver along with the Chicago Electric engraver. I read some reveiews that said that the motor wasn't powerful enough but I found that if you let the diamond bit do the work it engraves most metals just fine. It is much more ergonomic than the Dremel. It fits in your hand like a pencil and is very light in weight. I have used it to engrave small stainless steel firearms parts as well as an assortment of hand tools. I would recommend this tool for entry level engraving.Read full review...
