Fun times in Fortune City

I enjoyed the first game, and this game was very similar. I downloaded Case Zero prior to playing this game and it was worth the added story and combo cards, and PP you pick up. The combo weapon and card system is a nice touch as I found myself running around trying to create whatever silly weapon or item I could. The loading screens do take a bit of time, but if you have a little patience it shouldn't be a problem. I found this second edition to have a better flow to rescuing survivors while managing the timeline and keeping the excitement up. There are some nice twists and turns and is worth about two or three playthrus to get the most out of the experience. If you can handle some time management and objectives, survivor rescuing, zombie killing, and quite a bit of backtracking then you can definitely get some entertainment out of it.Read full review...

Dead Rising 2 - Still the Same

I've played the first Game, Dead Rising and it was very frustrating, poor controls, poor graphics and just very frustrating however back then, game selection was limited when the 360 was new, it was Dead Rising or play more Perfect Dark Zero. Back then with so few 360 titles out, I "had-to-like" playing Dead Rising 1.

Now, games have evolved since then, I've played lots and lots of games to name a few favorites: Bioshock 2, Batman Arkham, Left for Dead 2, Resident Evil 5, Alan Wake - just to name but a few. Many games have improved and I have come to expect new releases to be much better than the older games years ago.

Not so with Dead Rising 2, it is pretty much the same, in fact a little worse, the graphics rendering will give you eye strain. Dead Rising 2 has video cut scenes with audio but in game there is text-only messages or when I interact with survivors in the game, its text-only - I ask again "why?" and why the dumb dialogue. I have to hit the "B" button at each sentence to continue in a paragraph dialogue. Oops, I keep picking up junk with "B" button when I am trying to talk to this person whose moving around with loitering zombies. I have to feel for the aim to make sure I can button "B" talk. Time is ticking.

Yes, there are still time-limits to complete missions or "cases" and this time, the mall is bigger and "Chuck" jogs, he doesnt sprint, run or hurry, he just leisurely jogs. (I guess, find a bar, find a mixer, mix juice with coffee, something to make a "quick step" mixer or combination drink.) and Missions, its almost a guarantee one needs Internet access to get answers to finding the "you know, that underwear store near the statue." like that tree in that forest over there. Clock is ticking.

Co-op, playing with someone else seems to be a good idea, helpful for those hard to take down Pyschos but again, me and my buddy are kind of dog-chained to each other, unlike survivors that can be accidently left behind, I cannot progress to the next section without my buddy, I thought we could independently explore and solve cases, nope, we "have-to" be together. Tick-Tock.

Multiplayer, if your like me, I play ranked games, there are 4 varying types of games to gain points, kill zombies and earn money (which can be used in the game) ...but it may take a while, people are not playing this game as often and like many other crappy multiplayer games eventually there will no one to play this online with.

Theres hype and theres type.
Hype: To me , there is no real change in gameplay, no actual gameplay improvement, a follow-up title should be better than its original, this one is still the same.
Type: yeah, its wierd and "OMG like" has zombies, its so campy and cool.

I kind of expected this game to be the same when I first seen its start up screen, I thought "perhaps maybe it changed, improved" but as the game started and I gained control of "Chuck" I was disappointed, and said "yep it still plays the same" and me remembering "frustration with the first game"

I think, you have to "get-use" to this game and the gameplay in order to like it. Like it enough to play completely through it, some people (like my buddy) didn't like it and felt she was being "court-ordered" to play through DR2 with me.

Oops, Time ran out, Fail. I can continue or restart. Lets see, I have only 3 saves to choose from and I last saved about an hour ago in that one restroom way back there, guess I will have to restart from that one.Read full review...

Rising Frustration

You WILL die. Alot. This is an action game but it forces you to level up to survive. It's a hybrid game like the original beat-em-up for NES Double Dragon. Like in D.Dragon, you have to score experience points to improve your fighting skills.

I find it unfair that Xbox 360 has exclusive DLC for this game. I bought the Zombrex edition which is a collector's edition of the game. I had some laughs when it came to the packaging materials which was intentional.

What Metal Gear Solid does for leftist anti-military people, this game does for leftists who dislike the health care industry. Yes, Health Care in many countries is treated like an industry. While I was barely capable of beating the PS3 exclusive MGS 4, I am having infinite trouble getting used to things in this game and the original Dead Rising.

If you want to play a game that challenges you, that will drive you insane trying to win against it, consider this game franchise. Otherwise play the Wii Archives remakes of Resident Evil one and Zero for your zombie-bashing fun.Read full review...

Impressive!

Again, Dead Rising 2 has issues. It’s not the smoothest game and it can feel like the last one, however that doesn’t mean a thing when the game’s this much fun. Using a car battery and a Street Fighter mask to electrocute the undead and a set of knives and a pair of boxing gloves to make Wolverine claws are all great times. Watching Chuck get covered in blood as he slays thousands of zombies, changing outfits so that one minute you’re in a toddler clothes with a LEGO head and the next you’re in a sundress, and listening to completely whacked out boss stories – that’s what I remember about Dead Rising 2. Any issue the game might have just falls to the backburner.

7.0 Presentation
The loads could be shorter as they happen every time you change areas, but for the most part everything’s the way you remember it with looking at your watch, the onscreen arrow and so on.
7.0 Graphics
The zombies look good and the amount of clothing options are cool, but the blood can look flat, there are the framerate issues and stiff characters.
7.5 Sound
Some of the voices are awkward and forced, but the groans of the undead, weapon noises and the cheery mall music mingle together well.
8.5 Gameplay
It’s what people loved the first time around (bashing zombie with everyday junk while saving survivors) except it’s a bit more balanced -- plus you can combine weapons for max radness.
8.5 Lasting Appeal
This is a game that demands to be played over and over again so that you can see the different endings, find all the secrets, max out your level and so much more.

One of the best zombie games available

This is the closest thing to a dawn of the dead the game besides the first game.

Another great funny zombie slaying time!

I was a really huge fan of the first dead rising game so I was very eager to get my hands on the follow up and I had a great expierience. The story followed a new protagonist Chuck Greeen who's dughter was bitten by a zombie. So Chuck an ex motocross rider enters a gameshow inorder to pay for the drug Zombrex that stops the zombification process for 12 hours. Again this game is based around time so if you hated that about the origonal chances are you will feel the same about this. Overall great story with multiple endings and rediculas over the top zombie slaying and tons of humar, this game knows how rediculas it is and makes fun of itself. Oh I highly reccomend you buy dead rising 2 case zero first if you ar not shure It is like $10 on xbox live and you don't need the game to play it.Read full review...

Dead rising 2

Dead Rising 2 for xbox 360. I got the game for my son he enjoyed the 1st game, and this game was very similar, Altho it's prolly not for youngsters but it is a very Funny & Exciting game needless to say!. Some of things u are able to do is just unbelievable but it's also a very crucial game that is heavily time dependent, so u cant just go around doing anything unless thats how u wanna play i guess. but if u need a good laugh & fun i would get this game for urself..Read full review...

THE TIMER SUCKS HORRIBLY!

This game is amazingly fun...one big problem, you have a time limit on every single thing you do...this is a game where you will play it and you will wanna just explore and create items and enjoy it casually...yet you can't, your always rushed to do cases and the main story, you can never and I mean NEVER break off the story to just walk around and have fun and enjoy your game. If you do ignore the Timer? BAM INSTANT LOSS. I wanna say I love this game so much, but since I can't really take my time with it and truly enjoy it I would give this the following ratings...

If you have 15$ to spend, this game is a good buy.

I never really got around to playing the first one. So I found the second one for a good price and bought it. In general it's a fun zombie game, but I'm not fond of the restrictions you have through out the game. Weapons break, to much real world interaction, not "game" oriented. GTA 4 realsim (If you've ever played it). But for under 15$, I would get the game, it's pretty good at killing time.Read full review...
