Finally!

After months of testing and letting it sit only to test again. CPU was never faulty, it was the motherboard I installed it in.

Has been working for about 6 months without issue.

CPU Installed in an EVGA x58 FTW3 Motherboard with Corsair H100i V2 120 mm liquid cooler. Read full review...

Old, but still worth playing with.

This is s great 10 year old processer, not real valuable but works good.

Fast. Extremely overclockable (on air cooling, liquid cooling provides extra overclockability). Great choice.

Was able to overclock this identical processor over 1 GHz.
Fast.
Extremely easy to set up.
Gives your rig a great boost in CPU horsepower.

Very reliable. Absolutely no issues - 24+ hour burn-in period after overclocking.

Still using the same processor for over a year, after upgrading from a 920. Incredible jump in performance.

At one point, this processor was selling (NIB, sealed) for ~$1200. To get it in NEW condition for less than 400 is a steal. Especially if you don't want to build a new rig from scratch (PS, MB, CPU, RAM, SSD, etc.)!

Highly recommended.

the old mantra holds no longer

They used to say a computers life time was 3-4 years. I slapped this into my SEVEN year old motherboard as an upgrade to the 2.6GHTz CPU it had. New machine.

Intel i7 975 Extreme processor

Great processor . Blazing fast runs cool. Comes with a huge heat sink and fan which runs between 42 degrees C to 52 Degrees C in my system. The i7 975 Performs as advertised. Excellent product for any serious gamer. Speed is teriffic, runs at 3.33 GHz. No need to over clock this baby. I am very please that I selected this i7 processor for the heart of my new system. Running on an Asus Rampage II extreme mother board with 2 EVGA GTX 295 CO-OP graphic cards in SLI mode with 12 GB of Corsair Dominator memory (6x2)in a Corsair Obsidian 800 D case. Powered by a Corsair Hx 850 modular PSU. System is a screamer. The i7 975 Processor handle the system well with no problems.Read full review...

Great chip

Was able to OC to 4.2 on air first try. Was able to get it to 4.6 with higher voltage settings before temperatures became an issue. With better cooling I am sure this stable chip can go much higher.

There are newer chips coming out almost every day, but it is still a good chip.

It is easy to install but, you must be very careful or you can damage the socket.
