Sweet story with a great message

Ponyo is a favorite for me. It's beautiful to see the way the friendship blossoms between the two main characters, and is an example of kindness and never giving up. A sweet take on a classic tale.

We all learn from Miyazki's magic, "Ponyo"

"Ponyo" is one of my favourite Ghibli films ever and this is the second same dvd that I've owned. The first one which I'd given away to a small child who had some condition as he loved it so much. He couldn't concerntrate on many things but he could watch "Ponyo" endlessly and could explain details about this film that amazed his parents. Perhaps, some Miyazaki's magic! Fantasy, yes but Ghibli films teach children responsibility, commitment, respect, kindness and lead adults to take a look at children's innocent view, respect their needs etc. Frienship is great and both Sosuke & Ponyo convinse their mothers that they are to be together by working hard, proving with their commitment. Mothers work together and come to conclusion what's best for Sosuke & Ponyo. We all learn something which may be simple but often lacks in this world. This is Anime children can watch and enjoy.

This is a Japanese adaptation of the Little Mermaid. Ponyo lives under the sea with her siblings and a father who is a magician. One day, she is swept to a beach where she meets a boy. The boy thinks she is a fish and tries to save her by putting her in a bucket. Love and adventure follow. It's a sweet story with a good ending. I highly recommend this one.Read full review...
