Gotta love a Lexmark!

I love the beautiful, sharp colors on pictures and graphics. The simple and easy to use interface doesn't require a rocket scientist to figure out in order to use.

The only drawback or negative issue I've had with this printer is the USB connection which breaks down. An easy enough fix, but bothersome, requiring someone to unplug the USB cable from the printer and plug it back in several times until it finally picks up the USB connection again. The printer's USB connector doesn't seem securely in place and the slightest vibration or disturbance dislodges the cable, breaking the communication from computer to printer.

Other than that, it works like a dream! This is my third in 18 years, so I cannot complain about the Lexmark brand. Beautiful, sharp, photo-quality printing even on plain copy paper.

Convenient, Simple Operation, Bulky & Slow

I like the convenience of being able to fax, scan, copy, and print on one machine. It was easy to setup and is simple to operate. It is bulky and it prints slowly.

It faxes well with my VOIP, land-line telephone. I purchased this machine mainly for its faxing capability and it exceeds my expectation.

This is my first "all-in-one" that doesn't have a flatbed scan area and I don't like it, because, if I want to scan, view scan, and then copy a document, I have to scan first, view scan, and then put the document back into the machine in order to copy, which is very annoying. Copying is easy.

The print quality is good. Color printing is extremely slow. I do not print photos, so I can't say it prints these well.

It is a bit large for my taste, but it isn't overwhelmingly huge.

I thought the price was good for this refurbished item. After I won the bid, which I placed my bid afer researching it on-line, I found a new one at Wal-Mart, in-store, for three dollars more.

Overall, I like this machine, but I would not recommend it to anyone who is use to using a flatbed "all-in-one."

GREAT ALL AROUND UNIT

I love the layout of the unit itself, although for my preferences a flatbed scanner with auto feed has proven to be a more useful unit in my line of work.

This unit has been a proven product under both my somewhat demanding usage and under my Mom's demanding usage. Has always been ready for faxing and receiving faxes, but the handset is a major PITA to get off. Unit still functions without handset on it or on it and just unplugged from it. Sound quality of the handset is PATHETIC though, so dont get it as a regular phone with occasional faxing in mind cause if the power goes out, you are without phone.

Only other dislike is the seemingly high ink usage, and higher replacement cost for ink cartridges. Almost cheaper to buy another scanner/printer than to get just the ink cartridges themselves.

My New Lexmark~ All in One Printer~ Model # X4270

I just purchased a new Lexmark all in one printer model 4270. It was to replace my HP that had stopped scanning and copying. I actually brought this printer because of it's inexpensive price, less than $100.00, and it had all the features that I needed. Most all-in-one printers do not have a fax machine. The fax machine is an important feature for me. At the time I purchased it I had no intentions of making this my printer for very long...it was just affordable.

Setting this printer up was a breeze! It does not take up as much space as my HP did and that is a nice feature. It is slower to print then I had thought it was going to be...but the quality of the print is decent. I can not scan small pictures like my flat bed copier on my HP did but that is only a small inconvience.

There are pluses and minuses to this printer, but if you are looking to save money and have a decent printer then I would recommend this one...I believe that I will be keeping this around longer than I had originally thought!

Packaging means more than you think.

I have heard many Bad things about the Lexmark All in one Printer/copier /Fax machines. I know have bought two of the x4270 Machines. If your looking for something to print your favorite pics of your last weekend, or fishing trip This machine is ok at best. However, with my wife being handicapped, and our income reflecting this, They have paid forthemselves over and over again. The Fax and Copier functions have been very useful to us..I would like to have an all in one that uses less expensive Ink and has better Print Quality, and print options but for the Price we Paid for the Machines I can not expect much better. AIO is good for home

The AIO is great for everything I need to do: faxing, copying, and printing. I had problems with the phone and fax at first. The AIO is analog. I have DSL. My filters did not immediately fix the problem. So I had to contact the manufacturer to set it up properly. The ink was pricey at retail stores but I have printed a lot and still have not used as much as I have with other printers. The only reason I don't say it is great is a flatbed copier would take care of every need. But I could not pass up the price I paid for this AIO. It is well worth it.Read full review...

Good Product

This printer is pretty good. The only problem I have with it is that sometimes for some odd reason it will turn on by itself. All you have to do is take out the power cord from the back and put it back in and it will go back to normal. It is very good on ink, even though it takes a little while to print. Also very easy to operate, faxing, copying, scanning and printing is a breeze and it's an added bonus that it also works as a phone as well!Read full review...

Here's a All-In-One InkJet Printer for a Small Price

I purchased the Lexmark X4270 based partly on the good experience I had with another Lexmark printer and partly because the price was very appealing. I’ve had my printer for about 6 weeks now. It provides a very clear clean print and I was amazed at how well the color copying worked. The colors were a right on match with the original.
One feature I especially like is with the FAX, the printer will store almost any size (I think 160 pages is max) set of documents into memory before beginning the transmission. The document feeder loads each page quickly for scanning into the fax memory. The specs say the document feeder will hold 30 pages. So, all you have to do is keep loading more pages until your entire set of documents has been scanned. This eliminates having a feeder problem in the middle of a long fax. I faxed 40 pages recently giving me an opportunity to watch it in action. The receiving end was busy when the number was first dialed. The printer paused and re-dialed the number until the line was available. The 40 pages were sent easily with very little sound from the printer. I find it rare that I would need to fax more than 30 pages so this is not really a problem for me.
The only negative I have seen is when I load a document that is folded in half creating 4 pages counting front and back from a single sheet of paper. The feeder can cause the paper to slip and skew creating a feeder jam with a possibility of damaging your document. This is where a flat bed style of printer/scanner has an edge.
When looking to buy a new printer, I always look at the cost of supplies as well as cost of the printer. Shopping around on eBay I found replacement ink cartridges at very reasonable prices. I have not needed to replace either one of the cartridges yet so I am not certain how long they will last.
Overall I find this printer to be quick and it produces a very nice clear print. All this and it has a compact footprint on my desktop. I suggest you keep the manual handy for a while as it has a lot of nice features. I’m still learning about features I didn’t know it had when I decided to purchase this printer. Lexmark has designed this printer for a monthly duty cycle of 5,000 per month. Since my printer is in my home office, it should easily hold up to anything I might want to print.

Lexmark X4270 All-In-One InkJet Printer

I now own 2 of these all-in-one printers as my $300 HP died after 2 years of operation. My first Lexmark X4270 I have had as my secondary printer has now outlasted my HP. The HP I loved and had great features. But at $100 + more I could not afford another HP to replace the old one. Ink cartridges for the Lexmark are a bit pricey but was able to find them for less than half the price on eBay. With a good refill kit I have found that ink becomes cheaper that if you were to find the same for the HP on eBay. Copies, and Print quality is probably better than the HP. Scanning is also as good or better. Fax works quite well and probably not as well as my HP 2100 series. But... To tell the truth..... For the money I could not have gone wrong with the Lexmark. I am very happy!Read full review...

Lexmark X4270 All-In-One Inkjet Printer

I bought the Lexmark X4270 three weeks ago and was immediately impressed with the number of features available on this inexpensive Fax/Printer/Copier/Scanner. It has a affordable ink cartridges, great scanner, and easy to follow instructions. The Lexmark's size is perfect for sitting on your desk and is very fast printer. My only complaint is that the there is no speaker phone and the phone cord is too short. Overall, I'd recommend the Lexmark if you're on a budget but yet you still require quality printing, scanning and copy production.Read full review...
