Very inexpensive and finicky connections but it got the job done that I wanted. I wanted to reclaim data on old laptop hard drives before I discarded them. Ok, maybe I shouldn't have been working in my lap while watching TV, but lost then gained (sometimes) the connection with any hint of movement improperly disconnecting the drive while reading/copying. Not recommended. It's not clear how to marry the connector and hard drive. I guessed right on the first one, nothing broke and it looks like it might not fit together if I flipped the connector anyway.

Bottom line they (I ordered two) thankfully reclaimed all my data. Definitely recommend, just be careful connecting and bumping while active.Read full review...

Internittent performance

It's easy enough to insert the harddrive into the case. However, there is a problem somewhere with either the USB cable, or the connection to the harddrive. I have to jiggle the cable and then the computer does not have a reliable connection to one harddrive, and no connection to the other. Since both harddrives worked perfectly in an older ATA/IDE case I have, it has to be either the electronics in the new cases or the USB cable.
