revisiting my teenage days

fugazi!!! what can i say.. remembering the days of my punk era and i'm not sure if i can call this band punk or straight edge.. wow.. i were a teen when this came out and i am over 40 now and still dig it.. all i can say is that if ya like the underground kind of stuff from the 90s then this is the ticket.. the lead singer used to be in minor threat if that is any help.. not to mention it seems to have kind of a ska kind of influence with some angst and aggression, but at the same time with real thought provoking lyrical content for a more positive sway to a positive lifestyle.. i'd suggest this if ya want a bit of hardcore without a bunch of hate and negativity with a hint of give it your all to be you.. most important influence

To me, growing up in the 80s seeing fugazi live it is one of the best 20 albums ever made. It was probably one of the most important steps for punk and hardcore music that Rites of Spring and later on Fugazi took. Ian McKay and the two rites of spring musicians gave hardcore and punk music not only a rough, hard and really good music setting but a soul, therefore we called it emo-core. I still love all the DC Bands and honor them a lot, this soul you can find in many many bands nowadays. Another have must: Rites of Spring: Rites of Spring who were the first, the godfathers ;)
McKay and Rites of Spring are responsible for a real good quality of music within punk. Thank you for that quality.

Post Hardcore At It's Finest.

Back in the day, which was a Wednesday by the way, I had this mixtape with various songs i recorded from a local college's radio station. On said tape were various unheard scenester type indie rock bands. the middle of the tape was worn thin due to rewinding and relistening to a certain musical masterpiece. that song turned out to be by a little band called Fugazi and that song was "Waiting Room". nuff said.Read full review...

Punk Band influenced the Grunge we loved in the 90's

This band and cd are the staples of the grunge bands which were huge in the 90's. They remained independent and did not get the credit they deserve.

Waiting Room is a great song!!

O.G.Fugazi

Minor threat kicked ass, So it goes without saying tat Fugazi does also. Plus they are very socialy responsible.
