Great Idea, but they forgot to proofread it
This is a book my 7-year-old son loves. But I have to keep correcting for the typos and other errors that a good proofreading would have eliminated. One of the chapters makes a memorable reference to Proverbs chapter 37 (Proverbs only has 31 chapters). I have run across several other (mostly minor) factual inaccuracies. My son enjoys the way the book uses up-to-date language to get its points across. One final caution: Bible characters are multifaceted, but this book shows them pretty one-sided (this one's a "hero" and this other one is a "villain.") If you use this book with children, first read the related Bible passage or another Bible story book to get the facts, so you can edit on the fly, so they won't get factual errors from their first introduction to the story. (I learned this the hard way, because my son believed for a long time that Ninevites really slapped people with fishes.)Read full review...
