Skate or Die Wannabe

I bought this game because I thought I remembered playing it as a kid and wanted to reminisce. However, there was a reason the game didn't come to mind immediately, it is EASILY forgettable. There are essentially 2 game play modes: one is an "overworld" in which you skate around building up "points" by doing tricks. This is probably the most successful thing about the game because you can actually explore. Unfortunately, the world is dull, symmetric, and TEMPORARY! You are forced to play a "mini-game" after a few minutes or you'll be killed by some strange skater-killing phenomena...maybe its supposed to be a swarm of bees??? Anyway, there are 4 mini games to play, and you can score points and earn medals. I remember a half-pipe one, a downhill one, a jump one, and one where you skate between flags (slalom?). None of them really struck me as all that fun. The graphics are terrible, even for 8-bit NES! The controls are very wierd, it will take you awhile to master jumping and doing 360s etc. The worst part about this game to me, is the fact that, once you beat all the "mini games" it starts all over and just says its the "next level." NOTHING CHANGES, just have to do the same thing all over again. I can usually last till level 3 before boredom completely sets in. Only buy this game if you are trying to complete a collection - not for game play...you're better off with Skate or Die for the NES! This is just a cheap clone.Read full review...

720 damaged Jewel Case

When I was a child I loved the arcade version. The NES version is very difficult to control. It is also hard to earn enough money to enter a park...The condition my game arrived in wasn't necessarily accurate. The case was completely smashed but the Games still works so I left positive feedback anyways. Just thought I would mention it! : ) But over all this game does kick butt!Read full review...
