Van Halen - 'A Different Kind Of Truth' (Interscope)
Thirteen track [absolutely] miraculous come-back CD for the almighty Van Halen. Myself, I like this album much better than I did their '1984' opus. About every track here showcases the true roots of the 'original' Van Halen - in full spirit, heart, energy and vibe. Couple of cuts here worth bragging about include the typical modern-day VH classic gem "She's The Woman", the total ass-kicking "As Is" and "The Trouble With Never" almost makes me feel like I want to rampage through the city - while pouring beer over people's heads. No 28 to 30 minute duration here - as with several of their earlier lp's. On 'A Different Kind Of Truth', you receive a full fifty-minute dose of old school VH - the way it was initially meant to be. Highly recommended.Read full review...
Van Halen: A Different Kind Of Truth
Pretty good Van Halen music, after they had not made any new c.d.s for a few years back then (several years ago, now).

Better than expected album
This is more or less old school David Lee Roth Van Halen. I was skeptical but was pleasantly surprised. Diamond Dave delivers and somehow brings out the best/worst out of everyone. It has that swagger and wittiness than the Van Hagar albums missed. If you like the earlier Van Halen you may like this too. Read full review...

If you have been waiting for Old Van Halen, buy it!
Van Halen has been one of my favorite bands since I was a kid. I like the David Lee Roth era better even though I really like Sammy Hagar. I bought this hoping it would measure up to "old days". Overall it does a pretty good job. The more I listen the more I like it. A lot of the songs remind of their previous albums. The music is great and Dave does a pretty good job although he misses here and there. If you like Van Halen you can't really go wrong.Read full review...
if you enjoy or ever enjoyed vanhalen... get this one too
a hard rocking offering that picks up right where the last real vanhalen release left off(in 1984 w/ david lee roth of course).
big, heavy, hard and thumping guitar, bass, drums and vocals rivaling and reminding you of old release's such as fair warning & women and children first. hard to belive, but yes right on par with these other greats. no power ballads here. (thankyou vh)Read full review...
It was great to hear David Lee Roth back in the Band. The only disappointment was Michael Anthony not being in the Band but Wolfgang was is great.
We Love Van Halen

Awesome!
Never thought Van Halen would've ever got back with Dave.
Honestly, it's not their best but it's still awesome!
