The day the music died.

This makes the 4th copy of A Little Touch of Schmilisson in the Night for me. Each one before was given to someone else or lost in a move. The first was an LP and was the most amazing sound I'd ever heard at the time. I was a big fan of the first 2 in the Schmilsson series, Nilsson Schmilsson and Son of Schmilsson. Obviously this one was so different, at first I was completely disappointed. I wanted more out-of-control rock, clever turns-of-phrases and profanity. This was the 70's after all. So "In the Night" got a back seat in my play rotation until I listened, really listened to the whole album one NIGHT. That's the key- it was produced to be listened to at night. That's what Harry had in mind all along I think. After I got it, it became the first album in my stack. Behind it were the likes of Yes, CSNY, CCR, and Guess Who. Other performers have recently produced old favorites/show tunes/movie themes, etc. but none have captured the essence like Harry did in this one. A classic.

A great easy listening nostalgic album with a mellow sound and a touch of humour to boot. Glad to have found the CD since I wore out my cassette tape years ago!
