A HAPPY Ending for families of children with Autism

My 3 nephews are Autistic, all on different parts of the spectrum. One of them is at the unfortunately low end. He will always have a very hard time. I didn't expect that he would grow up to accomplish anything. I have read a lot and watch a lot and took a year of college on this topic hoping to help my nephews. I bought this movie to show their parents. This movie has a very boring beginning with basic info that most parents will have heard already. There is more to the movie than the beginning. So, if you follow the story of the little boy that is on the cover, you can see how they got him from a very dark and lonely existence to a better place where he can communicate with his family and learn and be educated like all the other children. The boy in the movie appears to be on the very low end of the spectrum. That gave me hope. At the end of this movie, he is still the same exact child with the same exact physical limitations, but he was taught to communicate. REALLY. He could communicate with his family and his teachers. That small move to teach him to communicate was the breakthrough that this family needed. All families need that. Meanwhile, the movie is less than 2 hours, but you cant teach a kid these skills quickly, and you can't fly every kid to that special center in Texas. Rather, as a parent, you can watch the video a few times and see exactly what this teacher is doing to this child to get him to learn to communicate. It worked for this child who was very low functioning. It worked for the son of the teacher who was pretty low functioning too. It has worked for every child with autism who was brought to the center. So she is showing us that it can work. But It takes time, patience, and determination. It might take a year to teach a kid to read and to spell. But these kids are able! Watch the movie and don't give up!Read full review...

Autism examined

A really good video to acquaint someone with the challenges of autism. Very informative and makes you very appreciative of the parents of autistic children and also those who work with those children. A must see for anyone who has interaction with an autistic child.Read full review...
