Black Cross
Excellent WWII story with a very interesting premise about the possibility that the Germans might have considered using nerve gas during battles particularly toward the end of the war. The characters were good although could have been fleshed out a bit more which would have made it (imho) a deeper novel. For example - Mac and Anna were pretty flat. Rachel was more real and Stern was a terrific character, and the one who was best depicted. Plot was really good and the history seemed pretty accurate. Definitely worth the time and a very good choice for those who like adventure novels set during the war.Read full review...

Dragging.
I had come to expect a certain standard from Mr Iles. But this was disappointing. Too predictable in its characterizations - one side all bad, other side all good. Suspense value minimal. Took me a fortnight to finish.Read full review...
