High quality fan

I bought this fan for my audio rack. Our amp was getting hot and making clicking noises. I temporarily installed a small desk fan to cool the cabinet, but it was ugly and noisy. I did a quick search on eBay and found this fan. The price sounded right, so we gave it a shot. I love this thing. It's extremely quiet. You simply can't hear it. The switch has four positions, high, medium, low, and off. It comes with all the mounting hardware you need to mount it in your rack, but I simply have it resting on my amp blowing down on it to keep it cool. No more clicks. The fan assembly is a quality build. The finish is nice with no sharp edges. It just blends in nicely in the rack and is undetectable.Read full review...

Airplate S5 A/V Cabinet 80mm Powered Cooling Fans

I ordered several of these for my Salamander Designs Elba 237 A/V Cabinet and my Salamander Designs Elba 221 A/V Cabinet. They fit perfectly in the bottom of the A/V Cabinets once I removed the existing plastic louvers that were provided with the cabinets. (Just to insure that they would not slip through the opening, I installed two metal plates at each end of the opening and used Silicon Cement to create a gasket and hold them in place.) They have a USB plug that is standard as well as an AC adapter that you can plug into any AC outlet. Once setup and plugged in you can chose settings of "H" for high speed or "M" for medium speed or "L" for low speed and "O" for off. They are not very powerful at all on high speed produced a very noisy "hum" that reverberates through the entire cabinet. However at only $29.99 each they are far more affordable than those sold by Salamander Designs that come built into the unit. The Airplate S5 is $29.99 and has specs of | Total Airflow: 52 CFM | Total Noise: 18 dBA | Bearings: Dual Ball. The Salamander SA/BVAC Bottom Vent with Active Cooling unit is $249.00 and has specs of Air flow: 33 CFM - Noise Level: 22dBA. So I chose the Airplate S5 as it is an add-on and not built in, but is one tenth the price and has a better specifications. Excellent Product

I purchased this fan unit for a makeshift computer cabinet. I purchased a computer credenza and turned it into a computer/server cabinet. It did not have any proper ventilation so I purchased this device and mounted it in the cabinet. Just one of these has cut the heat which has cut the fan noise in half. Definately worth every penny. It would be awesome if this fan could pull in air and push it then I would have purchased 2. One to pull air and one to push it. The one I have is still working awesome. Clean look & nice functionality

I've been a builder of custom cabinetry for nearly 20 years now. High end residential applications are my specialty. I stumbled upon this product while searching for something else, and recently had need for this. The unit is very nicely finished, and is something I am proud to include with my work. All required hardware is included, and is also top notch. I will happily use this product line again. I can also recommend the controller module. Equally well crafted and functions quite well.

Home theater cooling fan

I recommend a cooling fan for the electronics in a theater media cabinet. This one has been good so far. It is not totally silent but the receiver sound covers up the noise.
