Works A+++
CPU looked brand new. No flaws. Booted right up and BIOS/OS/AMD Overdrive recognized without issue or need to change anything. Replaced A10-5700K on HP P7-1417cb (Sam's Club) with the MSI MS-7778 (Jasmine) MB version 1.0 (made for HP). BIOS is A15 (latest) This is the highest APU series AMD processor that will fit this motherboard. The highend FX series processor, I believe has a larger L1 or L2 cache but requires a separate GPU. OEM processor is TDP 65W will this upgrade is TDP 100W. The OEM Cooler Master air cooler will overheat your closest stick of RAM so another CPU cooler that redirects the hot exhaust air away from your RAM is recommended. Look for a heatpipe that rises above or a water cool setup. You are limited in height and will have to get an external water cooler setup if you go that route. Breathed new life in my rig. Now if I can only figure out why the SSD won't work as my primary drive when I have my onboard RAID active.Read full review...

Big step over the 5800K
My HP Envy box acted up for years, crashing with machine checks. I traced the problem to a bad CPU chip(!) Possibly why I bought the machine near-new refurbished. Anyway, I decided to look for a higher, plug-compatible AMD APU for a replacement and found the 6800K. It's faster and has a better GPU, so I can contribute to Folding@Home again! I turned off turbo using AMD Overdrive unless/until I replace the heatsink. Performance is still great.Read full review...

AMD A10 Quad Core
Very well engineered stable APU with built in HD Radeon graphics so you don’t need to have an overpriced GPU to enjoy good graphics.
Having a good motherboard with your preferred video interface built in is key to getting the most out of it without investing in a graphics card.
This is the fastest APU that’ll fit in socket FM2 without using weird adaptive mounts or unstable laptop chips conversions
I’m an Intel fan personally but I appreciate AMD for sticking with PGA and not selling themselves short going with LGA like intel has to manufacture cheaper.
There’s a much better connection made when these pins are locked into place vs plated dots just sitting on top of easily bent spring pins with nothing but clamp pressure to make connection.
I’ve seen corrosion from humid air and even simple dust interfere with Intels current LGA socket.
I like the feeling of pulling that lever down on the AMD PGA socket locking the pins in and ensuring best possible connection so I don’t have to worry about it later down the road when blowing dust out of my machine.
I would advise Intel to return to the PGA standard, I would utilize a single/dual socket so you can install either two CPU’s or just one premium priced monster pushing IBM’s 2nm to the max and essentially forcing AMD to rethink everything they do and how they do it to put up a good fight.stop trying to manufacture so many useless different models every few months and focus on actually being competitive.
Sorry for the rant LOL, anyways the A10 is a great APU.
Ten years old in 2021 but performance remains ageless and the built in graphics still look good.
I bet it’ll still have plenty of processor power ten years from now to handle anything but high end VR gaming.

Best AMD FM2+ Socket Processor Upgrade
Originally $320 Black Edition box product on initial release March 2013, this was an excellent upgrade from an A4-5300B processor. This is the best upgrade for the AMD FM2+ socket. Still posts decent Processor benchmarks all around.Read full review...
