I bought this item for actualize my laptop.
It's a good item, but it's based on old technologies.
It's fast, but it has a small size of cache.
At the moment the Intel processors are the best, but AMD is cheaper,
you have to find the right balance between spending and performance.

AMD Turion X2 Ultra ZM-86 Dual-Core 2.4GHz 2M Socket S1 Laptop CPU

Was not sure if this processor would work in my HP Pavilion DV5-1119nr, it was in the maintenance document as compatible,My processor after 15 years just gave up though I thought, but it was the GPU (and that is another story). This CPU is pin for pin compatible, it give me 1 mb more of 2nd level cache, and 400 mhz boost in CPU frequency, makes it run just a little bit snappier.

The processor is a good processor, booted on the first try. It is stable and boots every time. This is not the processor but my mistake, in getting a higher clock frequency, I for got that will add more heat, so I am finding a solution to reduce the heat, running between 66 and 74 degrees Celsius for the CPU that is kind of bad as the TDP for the ZM-86 is 70.5 and the GPU is 80 to 94 degrees Celsius which is not good either, but all in all I cannot complain, it upgraded my system and and boosted my performance. I upgrade my outdated hp laptop with this zm-86 cpu. it plays youtube 1080p fhd video effortless. It can play some games with low to medium setting now. However, this cpu is still outdated, it is only good for those whom want to keep their old laptops by cheaply upgraded. If you really want real thing, then any used one equipped with intel i5 cpu would be better choice.Read full review...

I Intel all the way {even though somewhere a few years back i read Intel has shares in AMD...hence technology may be quite similar} but i was stuck with a HP G50 running an AMD and i took the risk and went up to the highest model in the lineup available online {which is no where on or close to the recommended processors } . Sweet upgrade

Swapped these processors into two old hp 6535B laptops and they booted up right away, Windows 10 responds quickly, no heat issues, hardly any slow down compared to my dell x3 (I7) laptop, You can see the obvious upgrade from a slower Turion processor and it immediately made these two laptops viable machines, just get a high quality thermal paste and clean the cpu and heatsink before installing and your all set.Read full review...
