Great All Around CPU!

I was surprised to finally find a 3600 for around $200 and even more surprised when it came in 5 days! This was great news for my new Pc build! The only thing is that it comes in a different box than what ships from Amd, but don’t worry it still comes with the stock cooler and all the other stuff. Even though I still don’t have a gpu my brother lent me his 5700xt for a day so I could get it running and it was awesome to see that everything was working nicely.

The 3600 is a great all around cpu and it’s at a amazing price. This will be great for a $800-$1100 build(all parts at retail of course).

Still a viable CPU

I installed this processor in a budget build for my son next to an RTX 3060 Ti. Great combo and they work great together. I'm still surprised that this gen processor still is pretty fast!

Overperforms for most gaming

Good if you can get it at a fair price. The processor is more than most people need and will run amazingly well. Video editors doing multiple operations at once can use this effectively, provided you also have a good card. Read full review...

Great CPU but 2600X is the better value

Pros:
Solid 100 fps+ gaming CPU and not bad for casual creation. It has fantastic value costing far less than the latest and greatest for near same performance on the mid range builds it is balanced for. With mid range GPU it will game nearly the same exact fps as a 5600X and who puts a 6 core budget CPU with a high end GPU anyway? You get the same real world experience for less.

The Ryzen 5 3600 is a great value in its class but not the best. It is only slightly faster than a 2600X and even with OC. You will only get more fps in games if you use a high end GPU. 5600X down to 2600X all get the same fps on all mid range GPUs because they all max the GPU to its limits. The difference in real world use experience is near none in all tasks. 3600 has PCIe 4 but that feature offers nothing for GPU and faster NVMe if you want to spend a fortune on PCIe 4 NVMe for something you wont notice even a little.

With AM5 and DDR5 platform arriving soon its best to get the most balance from a mid range build at the lowest price and 3600 is not the best balance for value and performance for almost all users.
from 3070 on down the fps will be near the same if not exactly the same. If you game at 1440p or higher, again, same exact fps

a little work and it's fixed

was exactly as the seller described, one pin was broken off in the corner and a few bent ones. these were easily fixed with an 0.5 mechanical pencil and a razer blade/sewing needle to straighten. to solder on the broken pin required a loupe and work with a very fine tweezers and hot air rework station with kapton tape. the CPU worked 1st try in ASROCK AB350 Pro4 motherboard and now is my son's computer.Read full review...

LOVE IT

getting the ryzen 3600 was a pain to work with the b450 mobo. just make sure to reformat a usb drive to fat32 or whater its called becasue the b450 fast bios only recongizes that format. it takes a minute to figure out. but its working like a champ. I love it. I got it for $175 new with a cooler so yeah. super stoked. Read full review...

AMD does it again

It' a Ryzen CPU that way beyond the minimum for 1440P gaming, or average everyday use. I tried it on a Windows 7 X370 PC but couldn't get it stable. After switching to Windows 10 everything was perfect. Benchmarks showed about a 20% increase over my Ryzen 1700 cpu. In real world performance it's a little noticeable but not earth shaking at 1440P.Read full review...

Ryzen 5 3600 👌

Very noticable upgrade from first or second gen ryzen. Not the best by today's or even 2 years ago standards, but given you get it at the right price (already having an am4 board is a bonus) these are a fantastic value and will do 90% of the tasks you want respectfully well.Read full review...

Great CPU coming from intel

Great CPU. My first AMD Ryzen and I like it a lot so far compared to my former Intel i7. The hyper threading is great; it's a little louder than I'm used to, but the last time I upgraded my CPU was back in 2014 so I'm not surprised there have been a lot of changes. The fan that it comes with is very quiet.Read full review...

I like it

Coming from Ryzen first generation, I can really tell the difference in improvements made in the memory controller and IPC. Very impressed with the 3600. Boosting is aggressive but sane. Unlike a R7 2700X that I just got that seems to want to burn itself up, this processor gets warm but stays manageable.Read full review...
