Professional grade works great!

I've been looking for a suitable antenna to use as a dual-band for VHF & UHF Aircraft (Military Air). I removed the top element from the longest antenna normally meant for H.F. So I'm using the bottom and middle element. This modified configuration meets my needs for a dual band aircraft antenna as well as the 700-800 MHz digital bands here in the U.S. Very high quality, should last decades!Read full review...

OK... so I love experimenting with antennas.

Top Critical?
I only recommend should you own a wide band receiver, live in a condo or antenna restrictive dwelling in a urban/suburban geographic and limited having one outdoor antenna.

Great MW (AM) performance using my Sony 2010 and AOR 8600.
Dismal VHF/UHF performance compared to my Diamond D130.
Pro: easy to install, lightweight, somewhat quiet.
Consider: Tall-Need nearly 7 feet of vertical space-antenna tallest element-feed box- and a drip loop for outside installation.

Good quality - material build- yes, However mine was deaf on VHF/UHF frequencies upon install.
Being a radio tech, the questionable performance had me curious - I opened coupler unit and found an open solder connection to the SO239 VHF/UHF element.
Found condition easier to repair than return to Japan.
Caveat, I need to admit, I dropped the unit on a concrete surface upon opening, no elements attached...go figure.
Anyway the unit build quality seems good, just don't drop it!

Value is what you can afford and what works for you, good right.

Overall, I like the MW performance as it does not overload the Sony 2010.
IMHO I feel VHF/ UHF performance could be improved, yet keeping in mind this is not a half wave dipole w/ground.

Only if your primary interested listening to Aircraft-GROUND communications (tower) comms. IMO, Not recommend as primary antenna unless your within a couple of miles to the airfield.
(Of course it will receive distant aircraft due to their altitude)

A good low un - obtrusive antenna for Urban-or Suburban locations.
Where good and plentiful signals typically exist.

Excellent antenna

An excellent receiving antenna especially when there is lack of space or when you need a practically invisible antenna. Receiving better on frequencies over 50 MHz without being deaf on lower. It works as per specs. Used with SDRplay and with Yaesu VR-5000. A highly recommended antenna!Read full review...
