Looks tiny, fells professional
I got Ubuntu 16.10 running flawlessly on it. Now with Win10/Linux dual boot, this laptop provides all I need. Enough slots, enough power, enough battery life, enough everything. Thoug, fingerprints are left easily on it. It's rather marky, keep this in mind. A lot of people comply about the Power button being close to the Del. I've never missed one, the Power button is also have a bit harder press, you really can feel which button you touch while blind-typing. The temparature vary a lot. It's metal, so it can feel cold on your lap and it can also be rather hot, still OK to touch, though. Well, I'm able to run everything I need on the device, you can barely notice the difference when you put it in your bag. It's reliable, thin, light, handy and just beautiful. Buy a macbook
This was to rival a MacBook Air according to many publications. I have a MacBook Air and pro. I'm afraid that even though I wanted to give up on the apple ecosystem the window os just couldn't match it. If this asus ultra book represents the rival system I have to say that Apple doesn't have to worry at all. The Asus touchpad is balky and Windows 10 just isn't as user friendly as Apple os. Awesome ultrabook with low price.
If you search a modern lightweight and silent 13,3'' notebook with good performance - it's a really best choice!
Pro:
1. Weight - 1,2 kg is very good for this price and performance.
2. Good and energy effective processor CoreM (only 4,5 Watt!) with performance of mobile Core i3/i5.
3. RAM 8 Gb - enough for all and Micron M600 256 Gb SSD (AS SSD Benchmark sequential read/write speed - 480/443 Mb/sec). ASUS's politic in Russia - to sell only basic models with reduced RAM and SSD - 4/128 Gb :(((. Ebay - rulezzz. ))
4. Absolutely silent (sic!) and a little warm notebook (on office work, browsing and watching video).
5. Good keyboard and big useful touchpad (two-finger gestures are supported and customable with preinstalled Asus utility)
6. Good matt(!) HD-display (color coverage about 100% sRGB) useful for video and photos. Display LED backlight enables 200 Hz PWM only on low brightness (about 0-27%) but stay still at 100-28% of brightness, I suggest to disable auto-brightness feature and do not use brightness levels below 28%.
7. Power adapter 100-240V allows to use it in other countries, you need cheap passive AC-adapter for your country standard only.
8. Long battery usage time (about 8 hours of office work and browsing).
9. 3x 3.0 USB and Wifi 802.11ac Standard.
10. Charged with Windows 10 Home (not 8/8.1)
Contra:
1. Keyboard without backlight. And Power Button upon Backspace (in other notebooks there is Insert or Delete button) - yes, it has led indicator, but you may accidentally turn off your notebook.
2. No Ethernet RJ-45 socket. And no USB-RJ45 adapter in this package.
