One of a kind, Very original equal great series.
The thing about this one is, it was a gamble. Something completely new and original with a chance to be great or fail miserable. Thank goodness it was great. Gory, original, and action packed. Not to mention a "eh" not so bad story line. The main character "afro" is not just randomly killing people. He is seeking revenge for his father. If I were to rate story is an easy A, visuals A+++, character's A++++, Length was a bit short but perfect in that it was not prolonged and repetitively annoying and boring B+, Music was fitting nothing to extraordinary or bland A-, overall highly recommended for "that" type of crowd. Afro samurai
im not usually into animae movies and such, mabe the odd cartoon captures my interest but rarely does a animae or manga movie like this attract me.
the main character is like a jim kelly martial arts expert crossed with a samurai, the blend of african and japanese cultures is cutting edge and very different from usual animae movies which lack a urban or almost...gangster kind of persona.
the graphics are amazing and give a kill bill vibe to a lot of the fight scences, the blend of hip hop music provided by the RZA of the wu tang clan is perfect, its a blend of corny cowboy / hip hop and spaghetti western that helps set the scene.
a poor amatuer review like mine doesnt do justice to the cartoon, SAMUEL L JACKSON really picked a winner to do a voice over on and the characters almost remind you of a bad ass shaft like samuel as well !Read full review...

Afro is a must for any samurai movie fan
This Series is excelent. if you like Samuel L Jackson, the music of the RZA, samurai, violence and great animation mange style you have to own this series. Afro is a kid who see is father murder by the number one assassin and he want to avange is fathers death. The animation was great though graphic, but the fighting
scenes were teriffic. It was a story that was well told
and is a enjoyable series. Watch it if you haven't already.
