YOUNG MC AIN'T GOIN' OUT LIKE THAT

This is Young MC's 2000 installment. His days of commerical success ended in the early/mid 90's but this emcee has continued to put out music and stay true to himself. The album is totally self-contained. Young MC ignores the never-ending trend of loading his album down with guest appearances and handles all of the production himself. Young MC keeps the cussing and explict drug and gun infested subject matter out of his rhymes and stays focused on what Hip-Hop what is it...straight rhymes and energy. Since this is an indie release and self-contained project, some of the production comes off kinda simple. Some of the album has a very strong old school kinda feel which some people will love and some will not. The real attraction, as all Young MC albums have, are the lryics. His rhyme-a-minute style are one of kind. So many commercial rappers not only give u garbage lyrics, but they have no presence or skill on the mic. Young MC has always stayed tight in this department. Out of his more recent albums (Return of the One Hit Wonder and Engage The Enzyme), this is probably the hardest 2 find (and it's probably the weakest of the 3). Any fan of Young MC should check this album out. If you are sick of the dime-a-dozen rappers who have been doing the same rubbish for the last decade...give Young MC a listen.Read full review...
