KILLER HEAT HARDCOVER 2008

The place is New York City and it's sweltering in the August heat. Assistant D.A. Alex Cooper is in the middle of a complicated rape trial when she gets a phone call saying the body of a young woman has been found in an abandoned building. The whole brutality of the beating is enough to make her sick, but it doesn't stop there. A second and then a third body are found and the city's top officials are screaming for some action before the tabloids already panic a tense public. Alex's leads are slim on this case, but the heat is on. She finds that the women had nothing in common. The only connection is the killer's choice of dumping ground and the olive blankets he wraps the bodies in after death. Alex is convinced that this is the work of a sexual psychopath and if she doesn't watch her step she may be his next victim.

Talk about spine tinglers! This new book by Ms. Fairstein will have you squirming in your seat. With the intense NYC heat as part of the picture along with the brutal killings, you feel as if you have stepped into the story. Don't wait for summer to read this novel!
