I bought four of these for my 2012 Optima. I have a dedicated Kicker Mono-block sub amp, model 300.1. (357 watts rms tested and verified by Kicker)through one channel into my 2 MTX 10's sub box. It's awesome, but was so loud that I could not hear the stock head-unit and factory speakers (2012 Optima EX base).
So, I bought 4 pf these Alpines on the advice of my installer, and we are committed to a Kicker 200.4 ($89.99) 4 channel amp putting out about 45 watts x4. Perfect match for the these, Right? Wrong. After receiving them and seeing how thin they were, I bought 2 kicker 60 watt RMS speakers for the front doors, and only used these in the rear doors. Both of them are now blown. That is with all of the bass dialed out, as I am using a 6.1 type setup. 4 door speakers, and 2 dash tweeters = 6. The dual subs are run on the Kicker mono block amp in the trunk. So, both of the Alpines I installed in the rear doors are blown. I junked them and bought two more.... the same Kicker 60 watt RMS 6.5" in the front doors, and then I routed more bass to all four.... perfect. These speakers are ok but not great. I expected a little better sound from an Alpine product. It's very easy to make them clip. Don't believe the input power rating.

Good For Price

They sound really good in my 96 Tacoma single cab with two Cadence 6x9s behind the seat a Kicker 10 behind the seat and 2 boss 1" tweeters and a 1000 watt amp on Kicker 10.
