I wasn't sure what to expect from this movie, but I love Keira Knightley, so I was knew it would be good. What I didn't expect was that the movie takes place on a stage and slowly transforms into different places in the story such as a train station or a hotel in Russia. Very entertaining and you don't dare take your eyes off the movie or you will miss something. The story is about a married woman who is tempted by a young handsome officer and slowly gives in to his attention only to lose everything in the end. Very confusing /misscast. Did not like the whole constant stage changing!

I thought some of the actors were miscast and over acted. The classic story was not well played out and was at some points confusing and the constant changing of the stage was a but silly. Making you feel this was all not real and a bit unbelievable. This was definitely not one of her best performances. Also the male lead was like robbing the cradle for Ms. Nightley...saw it once and never again. waste of money to buy the Blue Ray :(Read full review...

Overally good movie

The beginning with the well known music and stage creation, scared me! But after 15 minutes it was very enjoyable, she is beautiful and the dresses are gorgeous. Well made movie.
