Well worth the price!
I own a pair of Bose 700 and Bose 35 ii and a pair of Bowers & Wilkins PCX 7. They all sound great and have very good noise cancellation. But, I decided to get a pair of Apple Air Pod Max and, I have to say, it is way above the others as far as noise cancellation is concerned. This surprised me after reading lots of reviews and comparisons which said they were good but not as good either of the other two brands. The sound quality is excellent as well. Very comfortable to wear and the sound is fantastic. Noise Cancelling is very good but not great. The only thing I don't like is you cannot shut them off, they go into a low battery standby and that can waste batter charge. The Airpods Max aren’t the cheapest thing on the market but when you have them in hand you can really see where the value is. The aluminum finish and mesh headband mix well to create a premium looking and feeling headphone. The listening quality is great but could use some better base. Transparency mode and noice cancellation on these are extremely good and are one of the reasons i purchased these in the first place. A lot is packed in to them
They just aren’t headphones. They are designed to work perfectly within Apples ecosystem. This includes spatial audio and Lossless audio (you need a special cord for that one). They actually do a pretty good job of doing surround sound when watching movies. Swapping out ear cups is easy and there are numerous third party options.
