Like all Apple products, it's well designed, sleek and a pleasure to own.

This is the smallest Macbook Air. The memory is soldered in so it’s almost impossible to upgrade the ram. My MacBook Air (11.6 inch) with OSX Mavericks 10.9.2 has become a valuable toy. I’ve got a lot of accessories for it and a lot of programs installed on it: Microsoft Office 2011 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Entourage), Adobe Creative Suite 6 (CS6) Master Collection: Photoshop Extended, Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver, Flash Professional, Fireworks, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition, SpeedGrade and Prelude plus Adobe Acrobat X Pro plus Final Cut Pro X and Logic Pro X. There is also the stuff that came pre-installed: iLife (iPhoto, GarageBand, iMovie) and iWork (Keynote, Pages, Numbers). I don’t have enough memory to properly run Final Cut Pro and can do almost no multitasking. But it looks thin, sleek and cool. And if you’re an Apple geek, you get the light up Apple logo on the back of the display. I also have Parallels Desktop 9 with Windows 7 Ultimate installed so it can run Windows programs if necessary. There is no hard drive, you need to back-up everything to the external hard drive on a regular basis. Now after all this, I must admit that I use Windows machines for my day to day work editing television commercials and demos and for all print advertising… it’s still a Windows world.Read full review...

Macbook Air Review: Made in Heaven

I normally don't gush about too many products, but sometimes it is warranted. Such is the case with the new Macbook Air. I bought the 11" model with no modifications. My intention was to use this as a netbook and I would take it to work, coffee shops and other places I needed the convenience.

To start off, I think that the Air is just a perfect Netbook, better than anything on the market. There isn't anything this small or portable out there for the price. The $999 base price tag is just about right when you compare it to the sticker shock of some of the Apple products out there. It is still out of the price range of most folks though since they might just figure to opt for a fuller size notebook at half price or lower from Wal-Mart.

The Air boots fast, it is extremely lightweight. My 17" Macbook Pro feels like a chunk of lead after holding this thing and I won't even get into what my Gateway PC laptop feels like. The Air is sleek and has everything you need, including camera, speakers, microphone and all the features you are accustomed to.

The only huge complaint I can muster up for it is that the kepboard is no longer backlit. Some folks considered this a novelty feature, but I often use my laptops in low light situations and I no matter how much I have memorized the keyboard, there are still those combinations that I need to look down for.

Let's hit the pros and cons shall we

Pros

* Lightweight and portable
* Fast since it uses Flash memory instead of hard drive
* No noise. Even in a pin drop environment, you hear nothing from it

Cons

* No backlit keyboard
* No IR receiver like previous Macbooks
* Feels a bit fragile.. It really needs a sleeve case on it before you bag it for travel
* No tracking ability like iPad or iPhone. (Apple Really needs to put GPS in all it's devices in case of theft. using Mobile Me, you could track all of your Apple products this way.)

Overall, the cons for this baby are minuscule. The MacBook Air is definitely worth the purchase and you will enjoy it like nothing else you have use before. I highly recommend this to pair up with your iPad. If you have a student headed to college and you want the ideal present, just buy this and if you have the extra bread an iPad and you have a rocking gift for a new student and their college years.

I highly recommend the Air, buy it and you won't regret it.

Small, lightweight device with a huge amount of power and speed!

I like my 11" Macbook Air almost more than I do my 13.3" air!

Under 2 pounds, it is easy to slip in and out of my back pack, purse or travel bag. With iCloud all my files transfer to my other Macbook Air that I can keep at home (it is worth significantly more money due to upgrades, etc. and I would hate for it to get damaged or stolen).

I love Macs and have never had a problem with any of mine...this would be a 4th! :) I own an iPhone and iPad as well as an Apply tv and Apple Time Machine. They are wonderful products that stand the test of time and also have great resale value!

Why are you reading this? Go get this notebook!

This is my first jump into Mac , & I must say, I am pleasantly impressed!

This is my first jump into Mac. Well, I did use last gen maxed out 13.3 MacBook Air for few days, but I didn't like that it overheated, & for me, it was too big for me as a everyday laptop. It was really easy to use this Mac & I was a lifetime PC user. As I had iPhone, I sold iPad & got this, & I haven't really looked back.

I got the base model. Yet, the SSD makes most programs, from surfing, Word, watching videos, & even PS a pleasure to use ;) This would make a perfect 2nd laptop, as it lacks the raw processing power & HD space to replace it as main CPU. Though I am currently using it as a main CPU ATM, as I am eyeing the Envy 17 3D Refresh w/ coolsense technology & Sandy bridge to come out & replace it as my desktop lappy.

What I liked: Slim, very stylish, bright screen, 16:9, does not overheat, speedy in most cases!
What I didn't: It may sound funny, but it's actually feels a bit heavier than its 2.3lbs weight. It maybe be because I have used tiny lappies in the past, such as Sony Vaio P Lifestyle, UMID, Viliv N5, etc. Also, it could feel heavier thanks to Apple evenly balancing batteries on the bottom of the laptop.

If you even have a inkling of interest in this laptop, I say go for it!

look no further for a laptop!!!

this laptop is absolutely awesome!!! I usually get the biggest screen available, but after I got this I realized it's the perfect size. It is lightweight and has great performance. It's taking a little time to get use to Mac OS since I'm used to windows on PCs, but I have to say I like it a lot better so far. I don't think I'll ever go back. If you are considering getting this laptop then buy immediately, especially if it's at the awesome price I paid for it. This is by far the best purchase I have ever made.Read full review...

Perfect size and shape for on the go computing.

I'm a bit biased because I love Apple's OS and hardware far more than any competitor's but this computer has been an absolute joy. It's not terribly fast and the battery, while very good, isn't something extraordinary, yet I still give it a five out of five. I got it used and works just like a brand new computer. The biggest pro is the size/weight and the form factor. It's a feather and really really nice to look at. Just carrying it around makes me feel confident. Love it.Read full review...

I would recommend the Mac Air to any one.

I loved my MacBook, but it was a bit bulky for my needs. The Mac Air is great, for my needs. I like the portability and the fact that is it so light. Plus, I don't need as much memory or hard drive space after all I mostly use it for creative writing and social networking. I give it a 4 out of 5 because of the fact that it does not have a cd/dvd....for storage, the flash drive is ok. I am still happy, it is a Mac after all. Once you go MAC you never go back!Read full review...

Apple macbook air

this is a great digital computer, although I do not see a huge improvement in speed from my old 12 inch powerbook. The battery lasts longer, that's about it. Also, when it falls "asleep" it always turns itself off after a couple hours... Very odd. It takes a real long time to start up, too.
The screen is very bright and very good. Also, because of it's thinness, it's real portable. I carry it anywhere.
All in all a great upgrade from my 12 inch, but not overly impressive.

Awesome Computer, blows anything else in the area away!!

The MacBook Air is a great computer, the battery life is amazing and it starts up in a snap. I love the all-flash memory and its so small and light that it feels like nothing to carry it around with me. If you are looking for a lightweight, yet still powerful computer that this is the one for you. Absolute great product!!Read full review...
