Good device well worth the money, from eBay, that is.

In most cases the set up is easy, but if the Remote doesn't connect it can be a real fight to get it to work. I've had one, not this one, get real difficult to hook up. The Apple TV device itself, hooks up easily. But, do a Firmware up date immediately. Some of the earlier ones have old firmware that cause a bad picture on non-4K media. Google about the remote before sending it back. I found that holding the remote close to the device and pressing the "Menu" and "Volume +" buttons at the same time and holding them for a minute or so, I could get the remote to reset. Whatever works for you. I think the new remotes with the touch pads are too sensitive and hard for me to control, but the Voice command feature is great. I really enjoy the Apple TV, especially now that they allowed Amazon Prime on there. I share one account with my son and some other family members. You can share up to 6 people. I have mine hard wired in, but the wireless works great too. My daughter streams wireless as easily as I do on a wired connection. Air Play is a great feature as well. We use it at our office for presentations and educational meetings. Anything on an Apple laptop will be displayed on the TV. And the Screen savers are really cool!Read full review...

This one make 3

I bought this cause I have 2 others and they work phenomenal. As soon as I powered this on though I could tell why it was an open box. The led light was dim and then when setting up the remote functions properly but the tv button clicks like it’s stuck and the track pad ticks like it’s loose when running your finger over it. Like I said works well but led light (power light) dim and remote makes noise Read full review...

Easy setup. Smooth function. Versatile in its operation.

If someone uses other Apple products (iPhone, iPad, MacBook), this is a nice addition to that family. The nice feature of this model, over its predecessors, is that it allows you to enter your TV provider information once for any apps you decide you want (e.g. History channel, ESPN, Disney) rather than adding that information over and over again. The mirroring feature allows your screen on another Apple device (iPhone, iPad, MacBook) to be replicated on your television. The device is easy to use and functions smoothly. One word of caution concerns the remote for the 4K model: it functions well, but it quite fragile. It is not like the all-aluminum construction of the 3rd generation. If dropped on a hard surface, it will shatter (as the face of it is glass).Read full review...

AppleTV 4K

4K is pretty cool, but more processing power is what I was looking for. The unit is more responsive, as I upgraded from a HD AppleTV with 64GB. This unit is a 32GB option. 4K is there and so are other HDR options. Remote is still same form factor + the ring on the menu button. Helpful for orientation but still has its fan and haters. I often as with the AppleTV use my iPhone AppleTV App - but even with a virtual keyboard the iphone cannot control volume for a AV receiver nor TV.

Great device made for Apple Eco System ITunes, Amazon Prime Video, NetFlix and a bunch of apps. I am not a gamer but there are some available.

AirPlay is really cool for a household with iPads and iPhones and laptops to share content on a big screen.

Tricky WiFi set up but worth the hassle. Great upgrade!

Now that it's up and running, we love it. Our only frustration came during the set-up when we had continued WiFi issues. At times the Apple TV would pick up the WiFi but most of the time wouldn't connect even after trying everything (restarting Apple TV, modem, router, resetting to factory, etc). It then wouldn't see the WiFi network or if it did, say it couldn't connect even when all other devices were connecting just fine.

We almost sent it back until I came across an article on Google about going into your router settings and adding the Apple TV MAC address to the WPA permissions (just Google exactly that and you'll find step-by-step instructions). This was simple once we found the article and its worked perfectly ever since. It's just weird that we had to dig so much to figure this out when historically, Apple products have been extremely easy to set up.

Nevertheless, it was worth hassle. The 4k picture is gorgeous. The voice-to-text remote is awesome. Also, once you get past the WiFi issue, set up was incredibly easy. You bluetooth connect your phone to the Apple TV and it basically clones it, including all of your log-ins (Netflix, iTunes, Hulu, etc.) Now, whenever my phone is near by, it automatically gives you the option to use the keyboard on your phone to type into the Apple TV if you don't want to get up to grab the remote.

Long story short, if you're using an older gen Apple TV, this is definitely worth the upgrade.

Great product, easy to use, great picture and features.

Apple TV 4K has been a great addition to our streaming TV service. The feature our family likes the most is the screen mirroring which allows us to view our pics and videos on the TV extremely easily. Great product, and would highly recommend for Apple users, especially those looking to stream TV. Read full review...

AppleTV 5th Gen Media Streamer

A bit slow in connecting AppleTV to the Bluetooth remote. However, after that it was straight forward. Easily setup and installed our Cable TV App. It’s working great. Looks like new. Process of getting used to the remote took a little time but now we are cruising through the channels with ease. Remote is small and thin (don’t drop it in your recliner lol). Great resolution for Spectrum compared to past experiences with Roku. Heavy duty streaming box. Great open box price!Read full review...

Great improvement over my prior (non-tvOS) Apple TV; remote hard to use

Well, it's an Apple TV.

Coming from the last generation of AppleTV that didn't have tvOS, most of my quibbles are about the remote. It wasn't immediately clear what the "TV" button on the remote did (why is it any different from "menu"?) and I got the remote turned around in my hand within the first 5 minutes of using it. And the opening video, which introduces the Apple TV to you, didn't play the video, only the audio.

But most of these are sort of initial-use issues that don't bother once you've learned about the device (except the orientation of the remote.. I will probably get the remote flipped around forever, unless I can train my fingers to notice the raised ridges on the "menu" button).

I love searching for content using the Remote-based Siri functionality. It's fast and highly responsive, and shows me content across services (truly think this is the killer feature). It plays my Apple Music content like a champ.

Apart from that, having an actual App store is nice, though haven't found much too useful in there, but I've only spent a couple of hours on the actual device...

A great gadget with a slightly prissy remote

I often wonder what’s up with the dorks at Apple. Their penchant for high design versus logic makes me wonder if they ever get a date. There is this beautiful remote that feels so comfortable in your hand, yet it has so few buttons. You can pair it with your sound bar and raise and lower the volume, but would it have been such an eyesore to include a mute button? apparently at Apple they don’t believe in muting so there’s no way to mute.

Then there’s the touchpad at the top. It’s a high maintenance gadget like someone who barks orders at you in bed. You have to touch it just right. Not only does it work as a touchpad when you want to fast forward, if you also push that pause button at the same time, it has a click feature so there’s like a button underneath it. So when you want to tell Netflix yes continue watching Offspring, you click that button. Except sometimes it moves, because it’s also a touchpad. And that’s the thing, you sort of have to be schooled in how to use it. You need to practice, and get your touch just right. There are special ways that you have to touch something to make it do what you want to do. Another remote would just have another button- out in plain sight. You wouldn’t have to go to the college of Apple.

Then there is the way it organizes shows. I like the idea that it would display a collection of the shows that you’re watching no matter from what app. Except it doesn’t really do that. It shows some of them and eventually it learns when you click on GOT that it should open HBO instead of offering to take you to iTunes or some other app to purchase it. Some shows never make it to the list because it’s clogged up with things that it wants you to buy on iTunes. That’s the thing with Apple, high minded design and constant whoring.

In terms of the picture it does a good job producing clean images and it streams perfectly. You can put it to sleep which I couldn’t do with my old Roku. Of course you have to learn which button to push and then hold to get it to go to sleep because only two buttons do everything. Well that’s a little bit untrue because it has volume buttons and the fast-forward button.

It also has the speaker button and that’s when you’re supposed to talk your commands. Sort of reminds me of my dad who used to sit in his easy chair and say out loud ”Gosh a cup of coffee would be great right now.” Then my mother would go and get it. So you push the Siri button and then you have to hold it down while speaking, and you say open Netflix. And it does it. But you can’t say play Offspring on Netflix even though you watch Offspring every day. It’ll do something crazy and take you to someplace you don’t want to go. It’s sort of difficult when you open the Amazon prime app because it doesn’t seem to bring up your own list immediately and there’s all sorts of convolutions to find it. One day I just gave up because it kept scooting me to some other destinations. I am old and I get cranky and I don’t want to die stomping on a remote.

I’m happy with this gadget though. I would just prefer it were a little less prissy because then it would be thinking about what was good for me instead of making me get schooled in the ways of Apple.

Ultimately it’s like every other Apple gadget, beautiful in design but too complicated in its simplicity. With a Mac computer there are 12 ways to do any one thing. Does that really make it easier or do you have to learn 11 more things than you should normally have to master?

Best smart tv interface in the market.

Easy to install, and use with existing desktop and mobile devices through house. Highly recommend if you are thinking of switching from cable to streaming (DirecTV Now). There is a short (2-3day) learning curve to use the trackpad remote. Fortunately, it’s very intuitive and once mastered, it’s difficult to go back to using a remote with 75+ buttons and no “Siri” features. Read full review...

Used Apple TV. Great Condition and Easy to Use.

Received the unit early. Unit came with the promised power cable and remote control. Set unit up in two minutes. paired the remote and signed on to my network. Up and running with no issues. Unit was promised with minor use marks. Hardly has any marks at all. Unit is in great shape. Have already watched content and streamed content. Only thing I needed to do was update the software.
