My son loves it!

I purchased this for my son to have his own little IPad to watch and play has games on. It’s the perfect size for him! ALMOST exactly as described. I did not see that there was a crack at the bottom of the by the home button. I’m giving this a 5 star review because besides the little crack, everything else is exactly and described and shown in pictures and plus I am not a pick mom so this iPad will do just fine. Also forgot it for a GREAT price. thank you!!!!Read full review...

Old system software is a hindrance to an otherwise nice product

I like it for web browsing and email because it's faster, and the keyboard is a good size for typing. However, some websites don't load properly. The worst thing, though, is that the system software is too old to support the current versions of apps that I want to use, such as SKYPE. It was a good purchase for testing out the iPad and I would buy a new one in the future. I've been using a seven-inch table since 2011, and the iPad mini will be a good one for later on.

Far exceeded my expectaions. Well worth the price!

I wanted a mini from day 1 and was the first of 3 that I bought. I bought the Wi-Fi version because we all have hotspots on our iPhones so we don't need the 4G models. My experience with the iPhone, Apple TV, Macbook Pro laptop, iPods etc. has been positive not totally problem free but overwhelmingly good. Apple technology has enabled me to connect, collaborate, create and contribute in areas like music creation and production, social networking, business operations in ways only dreamed of several years ago.
I like that the product is light weight, very slick looking, great battery life, jacket pocket sized, well-built and durable. There are over 800,000 apps available for IOS products like the iPad mini and Apple has a better support and eco system than products like Kindle and Android tablets. The current and future uses of the iPad or iPad mini go way beyond what I see the Kindle or Android doing. The reason I upgrade my Apple devices when new ones come out is because I usually sell my old devices for more than the new ones cost. I always keep the device boxes with products docs, use Zaggs screens to protect the glass and put a decent cover on them device and the resell market via Craigslist usually sells my device in a day or two tops. Sorry for the long review but out of appreciation for the device I could go on but won't.

Got it for its low price and reliability. Get newer gen for speed & clarity

This 1st generation iPad mini is noticeably slower than the newer iPads but I got it mainly for FaceTime with relatives overseas and it's good for that. It's weight is ok though it's size is a bit awkward for one hand and too small with two --- get a case for it so it won't be as slippery. I wouldn't have gotten it if not for the price dropping to $200. For it's price, I got the reliability that comes with Apple products.Read full review...

Lightweight with great features

Lightweight, easy to carry. Fast charging; however, it does not have a long battery life.

Great Experience

I really like the Apple IPad Mini. I have worked with it in the past and wanted to get one and decided to purchase it from Ebay. It is very compact and travels well. I took one with me to Disney World last Spring and it was very good for taking pictures and video clips.I have a case equipped with a blue tooth keypad due to doing a lot of writing it is easier to have the keypad instead of a stylus pen. I also like using the Apple site to purchase games and music for my IPad. Overall the IPad Mini is a good quality product.Read full review...

Ease of traveling & size wise doesn't take up alot of space. Love it!!!

Very easy to use & also see what's on the screen. Still learning all the options that this Ipad has to offer. Ordered a mini keyboard with it also. Keyboard is nice but smaller than a normal keyboard so your finger's get in the way.
I bought the Ipad for when we go camping/traveling & to have the ease of a lighter and not so bulky laptop. I really like it!!!

The Bottom Line: No retina display but by far best tablet for studying/web

I am a student/computer technician and often have to surf the web for information, read articles, and watch videos, and while I would never replace my laptop with a tablet (even an android tablet) I prefer to use my mini over my laptop in almost every situation.
I wanted something ultra portable and was thus looking at the 7" tablet lineup, but didn't want to buy a "big phone" that I could barely see. I also needed something that could annotate quickly since I underline multiple articles for weekly meetings.

The ipad screen is 7.9" which although is only .9" bigger than most android tablets, it is 38% bigger! My screen is massive compared to friends with the nexus 7, and I think this made the difference when it comes to surfing on this vs the laptop for online browsing. When it comes to underlining, Apples technology FAR exceeds android. (i'm a techy and love android this is not a biased opinion) Apple allows you to touch the screen and drag your finger over the text you want to highlight. To do the same on android you have to touch the screen to "start" selecting text, lift your finger off and then retouch to drag and select the text you want highlighted at bare minimum (some apps then require you to touch the screen again to select specific options and then again to save before it actually is highlighted.) Having to touch the screen multiple times to highlight is slow, distracting and complicated. It may seem like a small thing but adds up quickly when you are underlining a lot. The final thing is that the iPad is one of few tablets that uses a screen with a 4:3 aspect ratio as apposed to standard 16:9 and this makes magazines and books fit the entire screen and not look widescreen.

FYI: When I am studying books and articles I prefer to download "ePub" over "PDF" since these allow you to underline and often have active links to cited information in he material.

I do wish he screen had a higher resolution display but I would have to say that the pros of this device far exceed this 1 fault.

Size - a little wide
Weight - could hold it all day
Battery life - amazing. Full day of heavy Internet use.
Value - uncompetitive pricing but best tablet for my needs

great apple mini

if youre on a budget, and want something More up to date than the regular ipads, this would be the thing to purchase...the IOS is I believe 9, which is higher than most regular ipads. And this ipad mini 1st generation would be cheaper than buying the newest 3 version. The brightness, screen, sound, speed of this product is A+++++Read full review...

still a great tablet!

Bought tablet for my home automation and tv/entertaiment remote. I figured I did not require the extra horspepower or features of the new ipad, as a previous owner of a ipad mini2 retina I am surprised how well it performs. My 1.5 year daughter occassionally uses it for her games, seems I might have to get another one soon :-)Read full review...
