Good lookin

Pros:

1.) Sleek and sexy- nothing compares to the design of the iPhone. It's "seems" durable so far- the glass shield takes a lot of wear with minimal impact.

2.) Loaded with features (duh). The wifi option works very well, navigation is very easy, iPod, iVideo, Camera, Google Maps, Weather, Stocks, Safari web browsing... all of it is fantastic. It does everything a "normal" phone might do only much, much better.

3.) Display is AMAZING - self-oriented screen, maximized resolution (not one cm is spared). Lighting is day or night is above average.

4.) OS is very responsive- While I've had a couple of experience where there seemed to be "issues" with the OS, overall it has been a very good experience. No slow down, never crashed, very responsive to the touch, etc.

Cons:

1.) EDGE network is less than average. I know this is a gripe with AT&T but it does effect the iPhone since AT&T is the exclusive carrier. I am in Chandler, AZ area and constantly have dropped calls, dropped EDGE data, latency issues, etc. C'mon AT&T- get it together already! (WiFi is awesome though! Use it when you can!)

2.) I want to send multiple pictures in one email, please. (More of a personal grudge)

3.) A beautiful camera but where's the video functionality?? (I hear this is coming)

4.) Push technology is less than desirable. It doesn't work consistently- that's my issue with it. I've tried numerous email servers and it's all the same.

Iphone apple 8Gb But still need a contract

Price
The apple iphone 3 GB is currently only available on o2. Personally, I think this is a good thing because o2 are an excellent phone company and the others simply just don't deserve it! O2 own the rights to sell the iphone from apple and this is why you can't buy it from your local orange shop or whatever. Now, my phone is on pay as you go. I have what is called a 30 day contract which is sim only meaning I have all the advantages of a contract but it's cheaper because the 'free' phone isn't included in my monthly price. Therefore, my boyfriend bought this for me on pay as you go and I put my sim in it. Now as it was a present I can't tell you how much he paid. However I believe he purchased it from an o2 store in which case it would have been about £350. Okay so this is allot of money for a phone. But as you will find out throughout this review. It is simply not just a phone and if, you're going to look after it, well worth the money. You can also get this on contract. The price of the iphone varies from free to £155 depending on which phone you get in terms of GB and which contact you take out.

Functions
This phone has absolutely everything and anything you could ever desire a phone to have. It has GPS through the use of maps which can give directions whether you are driving, walking or taking public transport. This feature also provides the user with a satellite view or a street map view or a hybrid of both depending upon how you intend to use your maps.

Technical stuff:
Available versions: 8GB Black, 16GB, 32GB Black or White
Weight: 133g
Screen: 3.5inch, 480 x 320 pix, resolution 163 ppi
Doesnt' allow use of memory cards, video (unless you have Iphone 3GS) or MP3 ringtones. The Bluetooth is also fairly limited.
Also it has that all important iPod. The iPod on the phone does exactly the same as the normal iPod touch. My boyfriend has one and the functions are exactly the same. The iPod touch is absolutely wonderful. I have an 8GB iphone and I'm not sure how much the phone bit actually takes up in terms of the memory but you can still fit allot of songs on this phone. I have about 1000 I think and still have memory free to add extra applications etc. its widescreen, you can view videos through the iPod and there are different formats you can use to view your songs.

iPhone Pros and Cons

The iPhone is definitely a great tool for the high-tech lives we live today. I personally am an anti-Mac guy but I do love the iPhone. My favorite feature is the maps feature where you can search for virtually anything and get their phone number, address, web address, directions to and from or you can add them to your contacts. And this can all be done with one simple touch of the screen! I also love the ease of the software. Everything is very easy to use on the phone. Setting up my email was very easy and I've had no problems with my internet browser (except the slow Edge network).

My cons with this phone are few. I don't like the Edge network; sometimes it's so slow it's virtually non-functional but this is an AT&T problem. Sometimes it freezes up and I have to restart the phone. It gets very hot if you talk on the phone while it's charging.

With the pros and cons stated, the phone is an overall great tool for the modern age and I recommend it!

Voicemail is the biggest turn off.

Probably the coolest phone I have ever owned. Most features are really easy to use, I figured them out in no time. Takes great photos, and is easy to connect to the internet, and the e-mail is really simple. My only two complaints are the lack of data transfer using bluetooth, I really like to share ringtones with my co-workers, and the big one for me is the visual voicemail. Using the old system you can reply to voicemails or send one through the voicemail system without having to actually call someone. This was great for sending those messages when you knew someone was busy. It was also a great, private way to keep in touch with someone if you couldn't get alot of privacy to actually talk to them. With the visual voice mail you can't do that. The name of the person that calls is displayed on the screen, so is the name of the person who leaves you a voicemail message. I don't like this at all! It is absolutley NOT private! I really wish apple had left the voice mail alone! Other than that, everything else is great.Read full review...

Apple iPhone

Well.. I've finally got an iPhone. I waited months for this thing to be released. I was hooked as soon as it premiered at Macworld and immediately wanted one. Here is a break-down of the Pro's and Con's that I see in this amazing device.

Pros:
-The display is very clear and detailed.
-The touch-screen is simple to use and keeps the device buttonless.
-It is a good size device and not as heavy as expected.
-The battery life is actually pretty decent on this, considering all of it's features.
-It has wi-fi, so I can snag open connections for internet browsing while sipping java at my local coffee shop.
-The menu's are simple to navigate, keeping the phone easy to use even for the not so tech-savvy person.
-The camera quality is amazing for a cell phone.

Cons:
-I foresee this getting scratched up quite easily.
-I'll be waiting to see the 80GB version soon. I can't store too many tunes on this with all the other stuff I use it for.
-I can't access itunes from the phone. I have to connect it to my computer. (LAME!!!)

Conclusion: I love this product. It's about time the U.S. finally gets a cool gadget since the rest of the world seems to be up on us in technology when it comes to cell phones.

Is this thing worth the dough? Not to me. I wouldn't pay this much for a phone, I'd wait until they came down in price. But I got mine free at wickeddeals.net so I can't complain. If nothing else, stop in at your local AT&T or Apple store and just play around with one. It's pretty sweet.

iPhone revolution

beeing a PC user for more than a double decade, ipod and iphone made me switch to mac. I now own an iMac 24", a Macbook Pro 17", an iPod touch, 2 iphones * & 16 gig, a few ipods.

what made me need (yes need and not want) o have an iphone is first the design. very slim and yet solid, I side it in my pants pocket without fears. the next good point is the ease of usage. it's iconised and ony one button can't go wrong. I don't really like so many button stuffs that get you confused.
I used to have plenty of mobile phones but never used more than 2 features, with the iphone, i have my emails synchronised, my contacts, my calendar, i check the weathers, time zones, the stock markets, navigation, texting and even play slide show of the kids when away from home. what a wonderful piece of technology in your palm. Now with Mobile Me, you can even push your data to all compatible devices. That rocks.

However, there are a few things that would make the iphone the only thing you need to have:
- the ability to disable the automatic spelling when typing SMS or text. it is very annoying that it keeps changing your typing in something it thinks adequate.
- the bluetooth module is not as easy to use
- the network locking thing. Why can't I put another sim card in when I am overseas when I already pay for a 2 year contract? as mentioned before all my stuffs are in he phone and i don't want to pay for the coast of roaming when overseas and still need to use my iphone.

Other than that my iPhones 9yes I carry 2 of them) are the only thing that I now carry on me when stepping out the door.

The Ultimate Phone

I LOVE MY IPHONE. It is so easy to use and it helps me finish my daily tasks while having fun. The Phone has a calander in it that you can sync with iCal or windows calander...(Im not sure what they use on windows). With a few taps you get your daily schedule done! It also includes a web browser (safari) so you can surf the internet... The internet on this phone is not like the one that you get when you use motorollas, it shows full pages you go to, not mobile versions of a website. One negitive part of this phone is that there is no adobe flash when you go on the internet but there is an aplication that plays youtube videos... and you can watch quicktime on safari. I have found other ways to watch online videos such as vtap.com . Besides that, the phone has a great camera built into it so you can take beautiful pictures. Well it looks beautiful because of the beautiful multitouch screen that lets you flick and pinch through photos. (pinching is when you use two fingers to expand the photo, zoom into it)... There are alot of other great things such as email and notes and google maps but this typing is getting me tired so you can see more of the iphone @ www.apple.com/iphoneRead full review...

Iphone 2g (AKA 1g or classic) Hardware

The hardware

Industrial design
We're just going to come out and say it: the iPhone has the most beautiful industrial design of any cellphone we've ever seen. Yes, it's a matter of taste, and while we imagine some won't agree, we find it hard to resist the handset's thoughtful minimalism and attention to detail.
The display

The iPhone features the most attractive display we've ever seen on a portable device of this size, by far and bar none. While its 160ppi resolution isn't quite photorealistic, the extremely bright 3.5-inch display does run at 480 x 320, making it one of the highest pixel-density devices around today (save the Toshiba G900's mind-popping 3-inch 800 x 480 display). The screen also provides an excellent outdoor viewing experience. With optical properties reminiscent of transflective displays, the iPhone remains completely readable (if a only bit washed out) even in direct sunlight. Unfortunately, the display's viewing angle left a little something to be desired.

Iphone is Excellent

The iphone is an excellent piece of technology. I have been an early adopter of smart phones and i have never found a smart phone that is as accessible as the Iphone. I started with the Treo 180, through the treo 270, the Treo 600, Treo 650, then i used the Treo 680 and the 750. I have also used the various versions of the HP Ipaq. I have used the different models of the HTC - the dash, the 8125, the Vox S710, etc. It is funny my friends thought i changed my phone almost every month. I never found one phone that could satisfy my needs.

The Iphone is very user friendly. All the applications are right at the home screen; the slide technology is a killer. The Camera takes wonderful pictures and the internet is okay. If you have sirius internet radio, you can also stream it directly to your iphone through orb. I found that the most fun of using my iphone.

The major weaknesses I find with the iphone is the keyboard. It is very easy to hit the wrong key. The restrictions placed by apple on third party applications is also frustrating. For example, you cannot find one single good application to store your passwords and private informations. The two that i are available are just junk and not worth the time to try.

On the whole, i will recommend the iphone to anyone out there trying to look for a nice smart phone.

HONESTY - Good Overall

The good: The Apple iPhone has a stunning display, a sleek design, and an innovative multitouch user interface. Its Safari browser makes for a superb Web surfing experience, and it offers easy-to-use apps. As an iPod, it shines.

The badThe bad: The Apple iPhone has variable call quality and lacks some basic features found in many cell phones, including stereo Bluetooth support and 3G compatibility. Integrated memory is stingy for an iPod, and you have to sync the iPhone to manage music content.

The bottom lineThe bottom line: Despite some important missing features, a slow data network, and call quality that doesn't always deliver, the Apple iPhone sets a new benchmark for an integrated cell phone and MP3 player.
