I'm very surprised with this phone. I'm super impressed so far. I owned a 4s years ago, and instead of getting a newer model I went with what I already trusted. I'm glad I did since having the latest and greatest doesn't interest me. I use Net10 prepaid service, and I already had a mini sim that was in my android phone that my husband recently commandeered for his own use since his stopped working. (That was the reason for my iPhone purchase.) I popped it in the SIM tray and it read it in under 5 seconds. Setting up the phone was a breeze since I already had an Apple ID. From the time I took the phone out of the box, it was less than 4 minutes before I made a call with it. We live in a rural area, yet the phone gets great service here with Net10, and it picks up WiFi much better than my android phone did. The only issue I'm having is deleting icons from the home screen, but I'm sure after the software update that will become a non-issue. As far as the battery life, I may have to get a new battery in the future. Time will tell. This phone has been sitting in a sealed box for a while, so I didn't expect a perfect battery. Apple out of control.

I bought this to replace the identical model which I loved, but dropped. Spent the extra money to get the dual processor because I liked the speed of the old phone. First thing when I went to restore data from my old phone, iTunes forced me to upgrade the software. It refused do restore my data unless I complied with its demands. The new OS brought the phone to it's knees. Typing response is in slow motion to the point of aggravating. And, as if Apple wanted to briskly rub salt into my wound using a wire brush, the new OS nags me constantly to upgrade the OS yet again, and nags me constantly to validate my Apple credentials, and nags me to log into iCloud. Same model phone I used to love, is now so infuriating that I want to throw it against the wall every time I use it. Good bye 10 year relationship with iPhones.Read full review...

Great Buy

Although theses phones a few generations old they're still great if you want an iPhone but don't have the cash for a current one. Battery life isn't great but acceptable, I have to charge mine daily. In my opinion these phones are a better buy than the current cheaper model phones at the same price point. Personally I don't like the size of the current phones, they're almost the size of some of the tablets. So if you don't care about having the latest greatest you can't go wrong with an older model iPhone, besides Apple's latest version is basically an updated model 4 so if you have a case on this model you'll look like you have the latest.Read full review...

Oldie but goodie

This phone works fine for me. It runs the almost-latest iOS version (9+, but not 10+ ) and has lots of storage space. The battery still works well, too. I have used it in South America and Europe with local sims and no problems.Read full review...

iPhone 4s model is good - just not this one

I had an iPhone 4s a while ago but accidentally dropped it in the water and it died. I bought this one used expecting it to have a somewhat compromised battery life and it did - so no surprise there. But here's the big disappointment: when I try to charge it I have a hard time getting the proper connection. The connection has some kind of internal malfunction - I can only charge it if I bend the connector at just the right angle. Go to batteries + they will hook you up for around $50, but you will get a new battery that they deep cycle charge i think before it goes in your phone thats the key. iPhone 4 not 4s

Still, it is a great phone for the price. A mistake in listing, but bought it and will give it to my wife or one of my g-daughters as soon as I get a newer model. It is a nice easy to use starter smart phone. It is a GSM phone, need a CDMA phone for better coverage where I go. Also would like the higher resolution camera that comes in the 4s iPhone. A fantastic phone and small computer. Had a SGS II for a year, but got so frustrated with how it worked (rooted, ROMs, and stock) that I was about to buy an old razor and ditch smart phones all together. An iPhone was the last option, so I was able to trade my SGS II for an iPhone 4. Loved it. Simple, easy to understand and navigate, battery life was 3 days with mild use. So, I bought this iPhone 4S and gave my iPhone 4 to my wife. Siri is no gimick if you use right. Does great for calling, texting, setting timers, alarms, to do reminders... iMessage is great between family, facetime is awesome.
