Good purchase.
I bought it as a replacement for my iPod 1st Generation. I wanted a hand held that can use skype and has a speaker. This unit proved excellent for both. Although, I find the the 4th Generation is even better as it has a mic as well as a speaker.
Battery life, while good it is I believe over stated or it is for stand by only.
I will probably invest in a 4th Generation next or wait and see what Apple come up with. I actually like Apple in favour of others at the moment as the number of applications available is very good.

Light, plays music and great value cos it's not the newest model
I bought this product because I've run out of storage on my iphone and wanted something to use for music and maybe a few apps. I also decided on 3rd gen because it does what I need and it's a heck of alot cheaper than 4th gen, especially if you buy it used.
It does what I need - plays music, connects to the internet. Battery life is as good as any smart device - i.e. a days worth if you are lucky. It's thin, light and does what I need but in an ideal world I wouldn't want to be so beholden to Apple devices!Read full review...

i got the ipod touch 3rd gen for a couple of reasons
01.
i travel alot n its perfect for on bus,coach,train,plane ride to make the time fly buy i can read,listen to music, watch films n when theres free wifi surfing the net and playin games it keeps m well ocupied
on a full battry u can listen music/read books for many hours.
watch films/games for about 3h depends on movie/games n lenth
play on apps for abot 3h/4h depends on app.
their is an app out their that keeps track of ur battey life. meaning if ur down 40%of battry left.go in the app and it will tell you how long listing to just music,game,films will last exp. on 40% u have 2half hours of music, games you have 1hours remaning.(just exsampls not actuall/current percentec/hours) just a tip to share i find it very helpfull
when i want maximum battry life also if not using wifi turn it off as that will use ya battery as well

i opted to get the 3rd gen 32gb instead of the new one/or iphone4 because of the memory and price, buyers should consider this befor buyng. i could of got a new iphone 4 or 4th gen for rufly the same price but it would hold about 1-2 videos a couple of songs n books and about 3games/apps which is rubbish if ur a havey user if i got the new iphone 4 with the same memory well that would of been too expecive for me or i would just get the ipad it would of equaled the same price. the 3rd gen hold all my music over about 1 thousend/ i have a bout 20 apps on thier at the min and about 5 games and about 30 books and its about half of my memory if that. if ur looking for a ipod/iphone n not botherd about havin latest edition new out then id go for an earlyer modle n get bigger memory instead as its defo worth it its worth it

the only thing i wish id have was a camara but dont really need it is i have my phone and ditital camara for pictures, u can stll add pics just not take them but for the the price i paid with the massive memory i wanted im happy to sacriface the camara

good fun and easy to use!
This was bought as a present, and was definitely a hit! It is well used, looks smart and is easy to use with lots of free fun apps. Links to broadband fine and no issues. The battery does run down in a few hours if used a lot, but also recharges quite quickly. Overall this gets a thumbs up. Capacity is probably more than needed, but will be used (I suspect!) for a long time :)Read full review...
Great for playing music, definitely one of the best out there.
Great if you don't have a current smartphone/iPhone as it pretty much is an iPhone but without the ability to call or text anyone. App store is the same, you do have to pay for the usual ones like Angry Birds but there are some free apps too, music quality is great, I mainly use it to use Spotify on it and it's great for that. Haven't tried video on it though so can't comment about that. Generally a good quality music player and general all-rounder, if you can afford it definitely consider it.Read full review...

If you require an ipod permanentlt in your car - or workplace, this is the product for you- large capacity, thin, light and portable it has all the functionality youi require: email/ messaging/IM/Music all with a clear easy to use interface. Add to that photo sharing and taking and a built in speaker - this Ipod Touch 32 GB has everything you need and then there's more with the apps available to download from the app store. A great product at a good price.
I bought the iPod touch as a replacement for my son's 2nd generation touch that had broken. It was repairable (at a cost) but decided that a second hand newer one would be a better option. The touch 'froze' when we fist switched it on which filled me with dread thinking i'd bought a dud, but after forcing a re-set it worked (and continues to work) fine. The battery dosen't last long but in fairness it is in just about constant use!Read full review...

Good value fun and very handy when travelling. A mini office away from the office? Since I love music, it holds my entire collection a good 22G in volume. It is also very hand where there is wifi. You can check your emails, reply, keep in contact with family and friends. If you enjoy to listen to radio, the tune in radio app is perfect companion to have on the iPod. Let's you listen to any radio in the world music, news, talk show, devotional etc.

A versatile portable music and video player.
With 32 GB the Apple iPod holds a vast amount of music, video and apps. It is very versatile and I can control the iTunes library on my laptop using the Remote App from iTunes. I did not require the camera function which is on the later version and this meant that the price was lower and represented excellent value. One of my best gadgets.Read full review...
